Playa del Carmen – visiting the school

I recently visited our school in Playa del Carmen and happy to report that it really is located in a very special setting, just 10 minutes walking distance away from the beautiful white sand beach and Quinta Avenida, the town’s main street. The streets in Playa del Carmen are clearly marked and most of the shops, nightlife and the school are located in a small area, it is very easy to find your way around the town.

The school itself is set in its own self-contained grounds with tropical gardens, a cafeteria where you can buy drinks and snacks, a volleyball court and hammocks where you can relax after class! Each classroom is situated in a sheltered outdoor cabana, overlooking the gardens, so you can enjoy the fantastic Mexican weather even when you are in lessons!

Lessons are usually held in the morning starting at 09.00 hours, so you will have the afternoon free to go to the beach! If you prefer to do something a bit more active, the school offer a great variety of activities. Some of these such as the salsa lessons are included in the course fees and will be based around the school facilities, but you will also get plenty of opportunity to see the best known sights in the Yucatan Peninsula as well as some of the better kept secrets.

If you want us to also arrange accommodation in Playa del Carmen, we’d be very happy to do this for you! One of the nice things about Playa Del Carmen is that all of the accommodation is located within walking distance of the school, so getting to lessons each day is really easy! The school offers residence accommodation where you can stay in a room with your own private bathroom and air-conditioning, located just 10 minutes walking distance away. If you prefer a totally immersive Mexican experience, you can also choose to stay with a local host family.

Getting to Playa del Carmen couldn’t be easier, the international airport in Cancun is just 40 minutes away and we can arrange a transfer for you directly from the school to your accommodation, or if you prefer there is a direct bus to Playa del Carmen from the airport!
