Discover Italian Christmas traditions in Salerno, where rows of historic whitewashed houses climb away from wonderfully clear waters towards dramatic hills. Salerno lies midway between Pompeii and Paestum, two perfectly preserved Roman towns, where you can delve into a truly captivating past. This Italian Christmas course in Salerno allows you to discover Italian history, the Italian language and, best of all, the vibrant Christmas celebrations of southern Italy!
Our school is located in the historical heart of Salerno, close to the stunning Cathedral. An elegant former palace houses our school, which boasts magnificent views of the coast!

For total immersion in the Italian culture and language, live with one of our school’s carefully chosen host families. A local family will welcome you into their home, and provide you with either 2 meals per day, or just breakfast. You’ll get lots of Italian practice and a fascinating insight into an Italian Christmas!
Or, you might prefer to live with your fellow students whilst you learn Italian in Salerno. Let our school arrange a shared apartment for you, with communal kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Activities
On your first full evening in Italy, there will be a Christmas party at the school – the ideal opportunity to get to know teachers and your fellow students! You’ll go on guided tours around both Salerno and nearby Naples, where you’ll see shops full of figures handcrafted for ‘presepes’ (nativity scenes). Also included are Italian Christmas film showings, seminars on Italian Christmas traditions, festive songs and a final Christmas celebration!

Transfers
Our school will gladly collect you from Naples Airport, Naples train station or the train station in Salerno itself. This service is not included in the price of the course, however.
