| Café life in Chambery |
Our French language school in Chambéry is very conveniently located just 15 minutes’ walk from the town centre and 5 minutes’ walk from the train station, in a modern building shared with the French students of a local school of management. This allows the international students studying at our school the perfect opportunity to meet and socialize with local French students and to practice their French outside of the classroom with native speakers. All classrooms are bright and spacious with TV, DVD, CD and cassette equipment. There is a comfortable student lounge area which is shared with the French students, as well as an Internet/computer room and free wireless Internet throughout.

Accommodation
Our French language school in Chambéry can arrange accommodation in shared student apartments, in a student residence, private studio apartments, or else in carefully selected French host families. Staying with a French host family really will help you to learn the language more quickly, as your hosts will encourage you to speak French with them. Staying with a host family will also help you to learn about French culture, and the way of life in the Alps. This accommodation type would always be our recommendation from a linguistic point of view.
Cultural Programme
At our school in Chambéry, not only will you have the chance to learn French in the Alps, but also to explore the region and learn about French lifestyle in this part of the France, through the cultural program organised by the school. This program includes visits, excursions, sporting and cultural activities, including weekend snowboarding and skiing trips. As this area of France is so well known for its delicious cheeses, the school also organizes regular cheese-tasting trips! Weekend excursions to Geneva, Lyon, Chamonix Mont-Blanc, Yvoire, Evian and Perouges, as well as the many national parks in the area are also arranged regularly.
How to get there
Chambéry has a small airport which opens during the ski season, but most students fly to Lyon and Geneva Airports (from where there is a direct train and coach service to Chambery). Our school can also arrange airport collection from these airports, although please note that this is not included in the course price. You could also fly into Grenoble airport, or you could travel to Chambery from Paris on the TGV (high-speed train), which typically takes 3 hours.
