General Language Courses
Most students attending a language course at one of our schools choose to do a ‘general language courses’, which are available for durations of 1 week up to 36 weeks. These courses are nor geared towards any particular exam, though you may be able to take an internationally recognised exam at the end of your course, if you want to.
General language courses are available at all levels, including complete beginners. The courses start on most Mondays, though there are sometimes specific start dates for complete beginners. If you are not a complete beginner, you will take a level test on the first day of your course and be placed in a group which is at the correct language level for you.
General Language Courses
Semi-Intensive Course: This course will be just 5 or 10 lessons per week, and is really only suitable if you are planning to stay a long time, or if you simply do not want to spend much time learning the language, but would prefer to spend most of your day doing other things.
Standard Course: This course is usually 20 lessons/week and is the most popular of all courses, as it allows you plenty of free time, whilst still being ‘intensive’ enough to ensure you make rapid progress with the language you are learning.
Intensive Course: This course is normally 25 lessons/week, ideal if you want to dedicate more time to learning the language.
Super-Intensive Spanish Course: This course, usually 25 or 30 lessons/week, is an excellent choice if you want to learn as much as possible in a short period of time.
Mini Group Courses: The maximum class size on these courses is just 3 to 5 students, making it possible for the teacher to give each student in the class very individualized attention.
Combined Courses: These courses are a combination of a ‘Standard Course’ and private lessons. If you choose a ‘Combined Course’, you can use the private lessons to concentrate on whatever is most important to you – perhaps preparing for a specific exam, or concentrating on areas of language that you need for your job.
Private lessons: These are ideal if you want to have individual attention and each lesson tailor-made to meet your particular needs. All our schools offer private lessons.
The minimum age for ‘General Language Courses’ is normally 16-18 years, depending on the school. Most students on general language courses tend to be aged 19-27 years, though a significant number are more mature.
