The Centro area is home to our Portuguese language school, which is close to metro stations, shops, restaurants and everything else you may need. Nearby is the Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil, a lavish bank turned art gallery, complete with a bookstore and café. It’s a great place to meet with classmates after your Portuguese lessons!
Inside the school are 10 air-conditioned classrooms, all with TVs and DVD players, where you can learn in comfort. There are computers for student use, as well as free wireless Internet access throughout the building. Directly underneath our school is a café, which is perfect for breaks between lessons.
Courses
If you learn Portuguese in Rio de Janeiro with our school, your course will cover all aspects of the language: speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.
The Standard and Intensive courses both offer Portuguese lessons in same-level groups. There is a maximum limit of three students per class, so you’ll get plenty of attention from our school’s experienced teachers.
For even more personalised classes, our school runs Private Lessons, comprising 20, 30 or 40 hours of tuition per week. You can decide upon the topics you want to study, as well as when you study. Your teacher can devote all of their time to improving your understanding of Portuguese, so you’re sure to make rapid progress!
The best way to develop your Portuguese language skills is to use the language in everyday situations. Our school’s Live and Learn program, to be taken in conjunction with group or Private Lessons, helps you to do this. You’ll spend two hours each day visiting local points of interests with your tutor, talking to locals and constantly building on your knowledge of Portuguese.
Our school also organises a range of special interest courses, including Portuguese & History and Portuguese & Music programs. If you plan to work in Brazil, or any Portuguese-speaking environment, our school’s Business Portuguese course will be ideal! As well as teaching you business-related vocabulary, the course will give you an insight into the Brazilian economy.
A great way to improve your job prospects is by gaining a qualification in Portuguese. Our school runs a program specifically aimed at preparing you for the only internationally recognised qualification in Portuguese – CELPE.
Another way to improve your CV is by doing some Volunteer Work. With the help of our school, you can work in conservation, mentor young people or teach English. Not only will you be giving something back to the community, but you’ll also put your Portuguese language skills to good use!
