You’ll also find the town of Nicoya close by, which is a fascinating mixture of indigenous and colonial influences.
Studying at our Sámara Beach school, in a maximum class size of just six students, your Spanish will soon improve! Costa Ricans are famed for their friendliness, and the locals will be more than happy to help you practice your Spanish!

Our school in Sámara Beach is right on the beach! Classrooms in the modern school building are all well-equipped, air-conditioned and boast stunning ocean views. Spanish classes sometimes take place in the school’s own lush gardens, or even on the beach itself! The school also has a kitchen, study and lounge areas, and free Internet access.
The Standard Spanish Course in Sámara Beach offers you 20 Spanish lessons each week, giving you plenty of personal time with your teachers. If you’d like the totally undivided attention of your tutors, our school’s program of Private Lessons is ideal! Or enjoy the best of both options with our Combined Course. This course combines group lessons with one-to-one sessions, in which you can concentrate on your own particular needs.
Help the local community as you learn Spanish in Sámara Beach! Our school can arrange volunteering opportunities in areas such as animal care, paramedic work, English tuition, social work, conservation and radio production, to name but a few. Volunteer Work will help you really get to know Costa Rica, its people, culture and language!

Accommodation
The best way to speed up the learning process is to practice your Spanish as much as possible. Stay with one of our school’s host families, and you’ll be using your Spanish all the time! The school takes great care to select only the most hospitable families, and all host family accommodation is regularly checked. You’ll experience the Costa Rican way of life and cuisine at first hand, with breakfast and dinner provided every day. You may prefer to live in the hotel right next to our school, which has air-conditioning, a large outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, bar and TV lounge. Share a hotel room with other students from the school, socialising with people from all over the world, or have your own private space in a private hotel room.
Activities program
There’s always something new and exciting to do in Sámara Beach! Activity coordinators at the school organise surfing, dolphin and turtle watching, hiking trips, school parties, music and theatre shows, football matches and much more! Latin dance and music classes, exercise sessions, cookery lessons and movie-nights are also provided, free of charge. Use ‘intercambios’ to meet local Costa Rican English language students - a chance for everyone to improve their language skills!
Weekend excursions introduce you to some of Costa Rica’s glorious natural sights. Visit dramatic volcanoes, gorgeous, totally unspoilt beaches and the beautiful Monteverde Cloud Forest, with its amazing selection of wildlife!
Arrival in Sámara Beach
Transfers are available from Sámara-Carillo, Liberia or Juan Santamaria airports, for an extra fee.
