This prosperous middle class town, just outside San Jose, is the ideal location from which to explore Costa Rica, while learning Spanish abroad.

Our school in San Joaquin de Flores, Costa Rica, is just a short journey from the capital, San Jose, offering an excellent base from which to explore the rainforests, beaches and volcanoes, while learning Spanish in Costa Rica. The institute has 22 air-conditioned classrooms, which are used for the Spanish study program, as well as a cafeteria, library, Internet room and beautiful gardens. You can learn Spanish on an Intensive Spanish language course of 20 lessons/week, on a Super-Intensive course of 27.5 lessons per week, or, if you want to learn as much Spanish as possible during your course in San Joaquin, study on a One-to-one course of 20 or 27.5 private lessons/week. Our school in San Joaquin also runs Combined Courses, which are a combination of the Intensive Course and 5 or 10 private lessons/week. The maximum group size at our school in San Joaquin is just 4 students per class, providing lots of personal attention to every student. Our school in San Joaquin organizes Volunteer Work for students who want to stay on in Costa Rica after finishing their course at the school. Our Spanish language school in San Joaquin arranges accommodation in self-catering studio apartments or in carefully selected Costa Rican host families. Our school advises students who want to learn Spanish as quickly as possible to stay in Costa Rican host families, as the families speak Spanish to the students, helping students to learn the language skills they study in class. |

Like our other schools in Costa Rica, our school in San Joaquin also offers an extensive cultural program, with Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia dance classes, cookery classes, seminars on Costa Rican culture, history and society, Spanish film evenings, Latin music evenings, rain forest visits, white-water rafting, volcano trips, river safaris and visits to plantations. This program ensures that students enjoy their time in San Joaquin, as well as helping them practice out of class the Spanish that they learn at our school. Students staying with host families are collected free of charge from San Jose airport. If you like, you can divide your Spanish course between our three schools in Costa Rica – Flamingo Beach, Monteverde Rain Forest, San Joaquin de Flores – paying for one course but dividing your stay between 3 locations.
