School group on a French course in Antibes

School Groups

At Apple Languages we understand the amount of work that goes into organising a trip abroad for your students. Naturally, the finished product should excel the expectations of your group, and ensure each individual benefits from the programme as much as possible.

The fact that many of our school groups travel with us year after year validates the quality of our service.

Our courses for school groups are completely tailor-made. Let our small team of friendly language travel advisors assist you in creating a programme that will meet the needs of your students exactly.

Whether you want to book lessons only, or a full package of lessons, accommodation, activities and airport transfers, we can arrange a trip that meets your requirements.

We select the schools we work with very carefully and they are experienced in providing language programmes to both individuals and school groups.

The range of locations we offer will ensure your students get the experience you are searching for – whether you want them to revel in the excitement of a large, cosmopolitan city, or enjoy the comfort of a smaller, more intimate location, we’re sure to have a school to suit.

Read on for more information on what you can expect when you book your language trip abroad with us:

Making a start

Simply contact us and indicate what you would like us to arrange for your group. If you aren’t sure we will be able to use our wealth of experience to make suggestions and help you develop a suitable programme.

We will then put together a proposal, including details on the number of lessons, accommodation arrangements, activities and any other services you might require. At this stage elements can be added to or removed from the programme as required.

This document will clearly show the price per person. Our experienced language travel advisors will be pleased to help you choose the right course for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us and ask for advice. We know our schools well and will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.

Course content

Your students will normally be taught in closed groups. Before your students start their course we will ask you to let us know how they should be divided into classes and whether there are any specific topics, areas of grammar or language functions that are to be covered in the lessons. The Director of Studies at your chosen school will then prepare the precise course content.

If you only have a limited number of students of a particular level we can arrange for them to study with other international language learners who are at the same stage in their studies.

If you would prefer for your students to study in open groups we can arrange this provided they meet the typical minimum age of the school you have chosen.

Accommodation

Accommodation can be arranged with carefully selected host families, in student residences, or self-catering apartments.

Host family accommodation is the most popular option, particularly for younger students. This type of accommodation is typically offered on a half board (2 meals/day) or full board (3 meals/day) basis.

If you would prefer to make your own accommodation arrangements this is also fine.

Activities

To make things as easy as possible for you we normally include an activities programme. As with all aspects of the trip, this is tailor-made to suit the interests of your group. If you are arranging a course in Nice and you want to visit Monaco let us know, or if your students are off to Berlin and you’d like them to spend a fun evening bowling we can arrange it.

Safety

We appreciate that the safety of your students is of the utmost importance. Although your students will be expected to exercise sensible safety precautions and behave in a responsible manner, our colleagues at your chosen location will do all they can to help keep your students happy and secure. Accommodation is selected with safety in mind, and activities will be planned to ensure everyone can enjoy them without risk.

In some cases you may be asked to return permission forms for each participant. Other schools may be happy for you to set a group curfew. We will let you know about the requirements of your chosen school as early as possible in the booking process.

Group size and duration

A school group can be any size, from 10 students upwards. If you have a fewer number of students please still contact us. We will still be able to make arrangements for you, whether it just be in a small closed group or in an open group with other international students of the same level.

Most of our groups study for 5 days (Monday to Friday) and stay for 6 nights (Sunday to Saturday). However, we have arranged shorter courses and longer courses so just inform us of your plans.

Minimum age

Our schools specify a minimum age and this is usually detailed on our web pages. Please note that this normally only applies to individual students – our schools are very happy to welcome younger students as part of a school group as long as they are travelling with tutors.

Payment

When you are completely happy with the proposal we will ask you to pay a deposit for each student. We accept payments in pounds, Euros and USD.

Once we’ve received the deposit payment for your group the price you have been quoted is guaranteed. We will not change the price in accordance with currency fluctuations.

The balance payment isn’t due until 8 weeks before the course begins.

Details of our Terms and Conditions are given on our website.

Accompanying tutors

We normally provide free accommodation for tutors accompanying the group. In the past group leaders have preferred to arrange their own accommodation. Just let us know if you would like to do this.

Airport Transfers

We can arrange for school groups to be met on arrival and returned to the airport at the end of the course

Travel and Insurance

We do not arrange travel or insurance. We have found that most schools prefer to make their own travel and insurance arrangements.

Hopefully this information gives you a better idea of what you can expect from us. Our language travel advisors will guide you through the whole process, from your initial enquiry to departure. We are confident that our flexibility and expertise will help you to create the perfect trip for your group.

If you do have any questions you would be welcome to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
