To all the yogis out there who love to travel and nourish their spirit by indulging in something new, this might be an interesting read for you! The ancient yogis taught us to nourish not just our bodies but also our brains by constantly learning.
As a yogi (a practitioner of yoga) I love to discover new things, broaden my knowledge and learn something new, and that’s not just through yoga! The path of learning is a path most of the yogis I know follow throughout their life and yoga practice. Honestly, who wants to do only 26 asanas in the same order in a really hot room all the time? Sorry Bikram Yoga, you’re still great though!
Learning something new and getting out of our comfort zone gives us a chance to see beyond the everyday. It hands us great opportunities to open doors and see the world with more open eyes. Yoga helps to calm the mind and prepares us to be open for new things.
Why not seek a rewarding and fulfilling experience by combining a language course with a yoga retreat in some of the most beautiful and tranquil parts of the world?
Yoga helps you to connect to the fullest with your surroundings, similar to learning a new language. It’s a perfect combination! A language and yoga adventure will make you experience something new, help you to evolve and grow and connect on a deeper level not just with yourself but with the people and the country you’re travelling to.
As a yogi and lover of travel I always found it helpful to speak the language of the locals. This also makes it easier to find a yoga class to take part in! With a special combined language and yoga programme you’re not just improving your language. You’ll also benefit from a better knowledge of the culture of the country you’re in. Practicing yoga with locals gives you the feeling of becoming part of the community as you’ll be connecting through your yoga practice. Making new friends for life and being able to enjoy the lovely sunshine is just another reason to dive straight in. Who wouldn’t want to practice Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) and Reverse Warrior under the Spanish sun?
