I spent a lot of time meandering along the narrow streets browsing in the shops and admiring the architecture. I loved the way you turn a corner and stumble upon a\u00a0stunning church hidden away amidst the streets.<\/p>\n<p>You definitely have to try pintxos (tapas) in one of the many restaurants &#8211; you really are spoilt for choice and as you walk past the restaurants you can see the pinxtos laid out in the bar making the decision of where to eat even harder.\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.applelanguages.com\/en\/learn\/spanish\/spain\/san-sebastian.php\">school<\/a> also organises\u00a0a Pintxos cooking lesson which is a lot of fun, and just one of many activities they organise.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The school is only a 10 minute walk from the beach which is great &#8211; they even offer surfing lessons. It&#8217;s also\u00a0right next to one of San Sebastian&#8217;s numerous parks which is a perfect place to relax and it&#8217;s easy to forget you are in the heart of a city.\u00a0\u00a0The school itself is very modern and has a big terrace perfect to mix with the other students at break time.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst I was there I stayed with a Spanish student in her apartment. Not speaking a word of Spanish I wasn&#8217;t sure what this would be like but I was pleasantly surprised to find that with a lot of gesturing (certainly in the beginning)\u00a0I managed to understand much more than I thought I would.<\/p>\n<p>Being a beach lover I also spent a bit of time on each of\u00a0the three beaches and ended my last day in San Sebastian reading my book on the beach watching the sun go down!<\/p>\n<p><em>Nicola<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The thing I loved about San Sebastian is the diversity of the city &#8211; historic centre, modern areas, parks scattered throughout, beaches, stunning architecture, rich heritage, beautiful scenery, the list goes on and on &#8230; I have a soft spot for the old town.
