\"\"My experience in Malaga was breathtaking from day one! I\u2019ve just returned from Malaga and I already miss its amazing beaches, the bustling and intimate city center, and the incredible location of the mini-campus where I took classes during the day and also had my accommodation in the comfortable on-site student residence.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, I left the airport terminal and uttered enough Spanish to catch a taxi, where we then drove up a curvy, windy road up a mountain. I was really excited because I knew, within a few moments, I would have a spectacular view of the city and the ocean! The sun shone bright on the cliffs to the left and finally I glimpsed the beautiful vista del mar (view of the ocean)! Far below the cliffs leading into Malaga, you see a long row of exotic palmeras, the palm trees that have come to characterize many Spanish cities that boast a wonderful tropical climate.<\/p>\n

And finally, just before the taxi begins to descend into the city, I see a boulevard stretching for miles, filled with people running, walking, cycling, and taking in the last minutes of a sensationally sunny day. I couldn\u2019t help but feel like Leonardo DiCaprio soaring over the bow of the Titanic! I didn\u2019t think I would see another great view like this until I was heading back to the airport on my way home.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Well, I was proved wrong the next day as I peeked out over my private balcony! From the hill upon which the mini-campus stands I awoke to a wonderful view of the sun gleaming over Malaga\u2019s red rooftops, and the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea waters ahead of me. I knew then that my time in Malaga would be a sensational experience!<\/p>\n

Though I stayed in a spectacular executive room, I also had a chance to check out some of the other accommodation options. I was so impressed with the size of the rooms and their wonderful views of the city. The great part of living in the residence was how close I was to the classrooms, sun terraces, school caf\u00e9\u2026and best of all the swimming pool!! It was awesome to be able to jump in the pool for a refreshing dip after class. Plus, having all of the students live on the mini-campus meant that there was a great sense of community. There was always a friendly face down at the school cafe, and the great people I met was one of the things that made my experience in Malaga so sensational.<\/p>\n

Throughout my stay in Malaga, there was never a dull moment with my school activities, Spanish classes, and even dance lessons! On weekends, I really enjoyed exploring Plaza de la Merced, which is a real focal point for all activity in Malaga\u2019s historic old town; there were plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as the house that Picasso grew up in, an enchanting Picasso Museum, and the beautiful Cathedral of Encarnation. It was a great place to sit back with a glass of sangria and soak up the atmosphere!<\/p>\n

Then, if you have the energy, I\u2019d definitely recommend venturing up to visit La Alcazaba. It is an incredible 11th century fortress built by the Moorish rulers, it also contains magnificent palaces and gardens, and Gibralfaro Castle, which is a 14th century fortress that was used as a lookout and defensive shield for La Alcazaba. I felt so much a part of history standing amidst these remarkable architectural marvels!<\/p>\n

I also really enjoyed discovering Calle Marqu\u00e9s de Larios in the city center, which has tons of shops, bars, restaurants, and teter\u00edas (tea shops). To finish a long day, I would always try a delicious seafood dish and sip on Malaga\u2019s favorite summer drink, zumo y tinto (which is a mix of red wine, orange juice, sparkling water, and ice) at one of the many caf\u00e9\u2019s along Pedregalejo Beachfront.<\/p>\n

The school<\/a> in Malaga was perfect for me. The city had tons to offer, I made so many friends, and I learned more Spanish than you could have imagined possible. By the time I left I felt on top of the world! I can\u2019t wait to go back!<\/p>\n
