I&#8217;m a bit in love with Italy, with the food, the art, the people, the landscape&#8230;\u00a0Italy has everything!<\/p>\n<p>I had already seen the most\u00a0famous places, like\u00a0Rome, Florence and Milan, and I wanted to try somewhere different for my next holiday. I wanted to see a bit more of the real Italy! That&#8217;s when I came across\u00a0Sorrento.<\/p>\n<p>I was looking for somewhere by the sea\u00a0that was\u00a0not\u00a0too big, so that I could relax and have more direct contact with the locals. Sorrento seemed to offer all of this, but what I didn&#8217;t expect was that it had so much more to offer! It turned out to be an excellent choice for a language course!<\/p>\n<p>I flew to Naples airport and decided to have an airport transfer (organized by the school) to Sorrento. Here the first surprise arrived, a very elegantly dressed person welcomed me and took me to Sorrento in an extremely nice car. Definitely money well invested!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pic-box size-full wp-image-1599 alignleft\"  title=\"Sorrento\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.applelanguages.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/84.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" \/>The journey from the airport to Sorrento takes you all through the Gulf of Napoli, which is a must-see! You get to see the nice beaches, the locals with their scooters, enjoy the refreshing sea-breezes&#8230;in 20 minutes I had already forgotten about any worries and just wanted to start discovering all the spots I was watching.<\/p>\n<p>Sorrento is a\u00a0lovely town\u00a0which is very popular with Italians, especially during\u00a0the summer season! The town is beautiful, with charming streets full of restaurants and cafes. What&#8217;s\u00a0more, from Sorrento you can\u00a0explore some of the best places in Italy. I saw Pompeii and its remains, the Island of Capri, all the Amalfi coast, Naples&#8230; and I only had one week!!!<\/p>\n<p>My favourite place of all was Positano, a hidden village by the sea, with cute narrow streets heading to a beautiful little beach (see the second picture). It&#8217;s very easy to get to Positano from Sorrento. You just need to go to the central bus station and get a ticket. There are several buses that go to Positano every day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pic-box size-full wp-image-1598 alignright\"  title=\"Sorrento\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.applelanguages.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/70.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" \/>Here&#8217;s my suggestion for what to do in Sorrento at night. You must try this! Go to the Hotel Imperial Tramontano&#8217;s gardens. There is a piano player who sings the most romantic Italian songs you can imagine. The views from these gardens is absolutely breathtaking, and the view of the Naples bay at night is something I&#8217;ll never forget!<\/p>\n<p>These are only a few of the things that you can\u00a0do in Sorrento. What did you like the most?<\/p>\n<p><em>Jordi<\/em><\/p>\n<p>N.B.
