Before leaving for Munich I had already heard a lot of interesting things about the city and Bavaria: beer, sausages, dream-castles, and festivals&#8230; And it was true!<\/p>\n<p>My classes started at 2.30 pm, how wonderful! Being a bit tired from the long journey, I was happy to be able to sleep until 10 am. Finally I arrived at school at around 2 pm after a little sight-seeing tour through the city center, since the school is in the very heart of Munich.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The first day already I met a lot of nice people who I spent some great 4 weeks with. Classes were pretty small and so there was a lot of time for interesting discussions about Germany. Me, being American, I met for the first time in my life people from the Czech Republic and Portugal and it was cool to find out their views on certain topics.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pic-box size-full wp-image-788 alignleft\"  title=\"Munich\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.applelanguages.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/munich_251.jpg\" width=\"164\" height=\"250\" \/>At one of my weekends we \u2013 me and my new friends Karel from Prague and Tiziana from Italy \u2013 went to the Tollwood festival. It\u2019s an amazing place, a mixture of concerts, hippy-market and chilling open-air event. There are masses of stands where you can find every kind of cocktail you can imagine, beer, and tons of exotic food. But Munich is not only interesting for this festival, almost every night we went first to these great beer gardens, and then to a bar like the Sausalitos, a Mexican party-dream, or one of the clubs like the Pacha or the M-Park. Awesome!<\/p>\n<p>I was really happy that I didn\u2019t have to get up so early, and honestly speaking, I wouldn\u2019t have been able to. After a big, fat Bavarian breakfast, Brez\u2019n and Wei\u00dfwurst, we went to school&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I can just highly recommend a German course at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.applelanguages.com\/en\/learn\/german\/germany\/munich.php\">this school in Munich<\/a> to anyone who is interested in culture, party and a new language. Within only 4 weeks I got so much German grammar and vocab so that I now feel really confident when speaking to Germans in any situation in the street. A pretty cool thing was that even some of our teachers came to the bar with us, so even there, we could go on learning in an easy-going atmosphere.
