This is where my best friend lives and I try to visit her at least a few times per year. Thanks to her Roman knowledge, I have, over the years, got to know a lot of insider places that only true Romans are able to appreciate.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s often nice to be able to go to places that are mostly tourist-free. I will be recommending these places, which, I hope you will agree, is always interesting!<\/p>\n<p>So, read on to discover Rome like a Roman with me&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Eat like a local in Rome with these suggestions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Panificio Bonci<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 our favourite bakery.<\/li>\n<li>Fancy a sandwich? Then the sandwich shop <em><strong>200 Gradi<\/strong><\/em> is exactly what you need. They are simply the best sandwiches I have ever had!<\/li>\n<li>Busy? No time to cook or even to sit down at a proper restaurant? Then may I suggest <em><strong>Pastificio Guerra <\/strong><\/em>for delicious fresh pasta on the go. A favourite place for a quick lunch.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, go to <em><strong>Forno Campo de\u2019 Fiori <\/strong><\/em>for some terrific takeaway pizza.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Gelateria dei Gracchi<\/em><\/strong> \u2013<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Local&#8217;s favourite ice<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>cream made with the best, fresh ingredients. Enough said.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Gelateria del Teatro<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>a hidden ice cream shop in the historic centre of Rome.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pic-box alignright wp-image-4119 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.applelanguages.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/rome1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"250\" \/>Punto Gelato <\/strong><\/em>\u2013 probably my favourite ice cream shop in the world!<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Cipriani <\/strong><\/em>\u2013 for traditional Italian biscuits.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Dar Poeta<\/em> <\/strong>\u2013 a dinner classic that my friend and I like to go to for pizza. She usually opts for the \u2018<em>Parmigiani\u2019<\/em> pizza and my favourite is the \u2018<em>Napoli\u2019<\/em> one<strong>. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rome is one of my favourite cities in the world. I love just meandering the streets and taking in the sites, imagining what it was like hundreds of years ago. What a beautiful city!<\/p>\n<p>If you like these then take an extra step and live like a local whilst learning Italian.
