Salamanca is an ideal location for young students to learn Spanish as the Spanish spoken here is pure “Castellano” with no regional accent or dialect. The school is located in the largely pedestrianised city centre.
Spanish lessons take place every morning. All teachers are fully qualified and experienced in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
Accommodation is provided with carefully selected host families , or in our student residence. All host families live within walking distance of the school, and offer twin rooms. Or stay in a double room at our student residence, where you will share bathroom facilities with your fellow students. The owners of the residence live on-site, and are available 24/7. The residence is just a 10-minute walk away from both the school and the Plaza Mayor, where the locals meet.
Older students are allowed some free time in the evenings and we ask all parents to provide us with a parental consent form giving their permission for students to go out until the time of their choice. All excursions and sporting activities are supervised.
A full program of cultural activities and sports is included with one activity each afternoon during the week (games, swimming pool trip, Spanish film evening, sports, guided tour of Salamanca, cycling, river boat trip). On Saturday there is a full day excursion (Segovia, the Sierras).
This program is ideal for students wishing to totally immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture. Students from a wide range of nationalities attend the course, all teenagers, aged 13-16 years.
Airport transfers from/to Madrid airport are included in the program. Flights on the Sunday before the course starts should arrive before 17:00 hours to allow time for the transfer to Salamanca. For departures on the Saturday after the program finishes flights should not leave Madrid earlier than 12:00 hours.
