Club 50+ courses
Our year-round language courses are suitable for adults of all ages, as they usually have a minimum age requirement of 16-18 years and no maximum age limit. Whilst the average age tends to work out to be 20-25 years (although there are some exceptions, such as Aix-en-Provence which does have a higher average age) we do generally take plenty of students either side of this age bracket. Also, most students do travel alone and tend to share common interests (such as the language and culture) and so age is not usually an issue.
However, we do also offer a range of courses designed specifically for more mature students aged 50 years and over who wish to study exclusively with other students of a similar age to themselves. We call these courses ‘Club 50+’ and they combine language lessons with cultural activities.

Courses
Most Club 50+ courses consist of 15 or 20 language lessons every week. All teachers are fully qualified and experienced in the teaching of their language to foreign students. The teaching methods are professional and ‘communicative’ and with more emphasis on speaking than writing skills, although all 4 key skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) will be covered. The main aim is to enable students to communicate in the language, at whatever level - and for the lessons to be enjoyable!
Please note that, as per our normal Terms and Conditions, if you are the only student of your level, the schools do reserve the right to offer you a reduced number of private lessons.
Suitability
These specialist holiday language courses are ideal for mature students and senior citizens who wish to combine an excellent language course with an enjoyable range of cultural activities and excursions.
Levels
Most ‘Club 50+’ courses run at several levels. On the first day of your course you will take a level test, unless you are a complete beginner, in which case you will start in a complete beginners’ group. So, whether you want to take a Spanish course in Spain, a French course in France, an Italian course in Italy or a German course in Germany, we will make sure that the group you are placed in is suitable for your level, whether you be a complete beginner, or an advanced learner.
Accommodation
For mature students wishing to completely immerse themselves in the language and culture of a particular country, our schools offer accommodation with carefully selected host families. Some schools even offer "Executive host family" accommodation, with private bathrooms.
However, for those students who prefer not to live with a host family, we also offer high standard accommodation in private studio apartments and in hotels.
In Malaga and Nerja we even offer excellent student residences which normally have private en-suite bathrooms in all rooms, as well as swimming pools!
In most other locations, we would advise against student residence accommodation as this is usually very basic and, therefore, most popular with students in their 20s (which means that they can get a bit noisy). For the same reasons we would almost always advise against shared apartment accommodation.
Cultural Activities
A special program of cultural activities is included with every Club 50+ language course. Examples of typical activities include excursions, guided walks, wine tasting, cookery lessons, dinners out, theatre trips and dancing.
Airport transfers
Optional airport transfers can be arranged for an additional charge.
