At Apple Languages, many of us studied a range of foreign languages at school, and therefore we understand how much benefit can be gained by taking a language course abroad during your holidays! We also understand the requirements that young students and parents have for these courses, and we have therefore selected the Young Students’ Courses we offer very carefully.
These programmes combine language lessons with accommodation and an extensive activities programme, as we know that you not only want to improve your language skills, but also have a brilliant time and meet lots of new friends of a similar age to you from all over the world!
These programmes also offer a high level of supervision, so that your parents and guardians can be sure of your safety. Students are usually supervised at all times, although some programmes do offer older students some free unsupervised time. Of course, if you require any further information on the level of supervision offered on the programme in which you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are very experienced in arranging courses for young students, and therefore will be pleased to provide any information or advice required to help you choose the right course for you!
Whether you are learning Spanish, French, German, Italian, English, Chinese or Russian we will have a course to suit you! You will take a level test on arrival, which will help you to be placed in a suitable group, with students of a similar level to yourself.
All courses are total immersion courses, meaning that they will be taught in the target language from the outset, and your teachers will encourage you to speak in the target language as much as possible.
Your teachers will be very highly qualified (with a university degree and a qualification in teaching their native language as a foreign language). They will also be experienced in teaching students of your age group!
Most of our courses take place over the summer months, although some are also offered at other times of year.
Many of our language programs for young students offer on-site residence accommodation on their own campus. Some even have their own on-site sports facilities and swimming pool (such as Marbella). Teachers and activity leaders normally live on-site providing 24-hour care and supervision. In some cases, students are allowed some 'unsupervised' free time with parental consent.
Some of our language camps include accommodation with host families providing a total immersion in the language and culture (these include our programmes in Salamanca, Seville, Biarritz). All host families are carefully selected and experienced in receiving young students from other countries.
Most of our courses for young students offer a high level of supervision and support, whether you are in your lessons, at home in your accommodation, or out on an activity or excursion.
Staff at our schools are specially trained to supervise students of this age, and often live on-site (in the case that students stay in residence accommodation). If you are staying with a host family, they will also supervise you whilst you are with them.
Some programmes do allow older students the opportunity to have some free, unsupervised time, although where this is the case, parents are asked to sign a consent form, and there are usually curfews imposed.
Please contact us for further information on the supervision offered by the programme in which you are interested.
All of our courses for young students include a packed activities programme, which will make sure that you meet plenty of other international students of a similar age to yourself, and that you have lots of fun!
The exact activities offered do vary from school to school, but typically include a wide range of sporting activities, film evenings, quizzes and games, and parties at the school!
All activities are supervised. Some of our schools also offer the opportunity to combine your language lessons with an additional activity.
Examples of this include surfing in San Sebastian and Biarritz; horse-riding and tennis in Freiburg; or sightseeing, fashion or sports in London.
If you have a particular interest, why not contact us to see if there is a programme that will allow you to combine it with your language course!
Our courses for young students are suitable for students under the age of 18 years who wish improve their overall level in their target language during their holidays!
These courses combine language lessons, accommodation, activities and a high level of supervision, to ensure that you have fun and stay safe whilst you are studying!
These courses are particularly suitable for students who wish to study exclusively with students of a similar age to themselves.
Many of our courses for young students include airport transfers. Where this is not included in the course price, it is possible to arrange (and in this case the service is usually not included as there are a choice of airports into which students can fly).
Please contact us for further information on airport transfers. Please note that, as with all of our courses, we strongly recommend that you do not make travel arrangements until your course has been confirmed by us.
Over 16 yrs?
If you are aged 16 years or over, you may prefer to take one of our year-round courses, as these will certainly allow you more freedom than our courses for young students (although in some cases there may be curfews imposed on students under the age of 18 years).
These courses are offered throughout the year, and can be arranged for a duration of 1-36 weeks or more! Although you are likely to be one of the youngest students taking one of these courses, we do find that students over the age of 16 years tend to prefer our year-round courses.
We also find that many of our schools tend to be very popular amongst students of this age during the summer months! We know our schools extremely well, so please do not hesitate to contact us for advice on which option will best suit your specific requirements.
