Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert, Morocco is a truly stunning country, and the gateway to Africa! Its capital, Rabat, is a truly historic city, and is famous for its traditional cuisine and architecture, making it a fantastic location in which to learn Arabic! The old part of the town, the Medina, is of particular interest to those who would like to get a real taste of the local culture and has many typically Moroccan shops including craft shops where you can buy one of Rabat’s famous carpets, as well as cafes where you can sample a traditional meantha tea! Despite its status as the capital city of Morocco, Rabat has a very compact city centre, with a much more relaxed atmosphere than other Moroccan cities.
