Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in this package as standard but can be added for an additional fee. The below options are available between Sunday 22nd December 2019 and Sunday 5th January 2020.

For a well-rounded language experience, we highly recommend that you stay with a local homestay host. With this option, you’ll have a private bedroom and share the lounge and bathroom with your host(s) and any other students in the home. Some hosts can offer access to a private bathroom (subject to availability). Meals are provided by your host; you can choose a breakfast-included or a half-board package. Dinnertime presents an excellent opportunity for socialising - giving you invaluable language practice outside the classroom - so we recommend that you select the half-board option. Your host(s) will clean your room once a week, though you should keep your space tidy throughout your stay. Hosts mays do your laundry for you, give you access to the home’s laundry facilities, or advise you on local public laundry services (not all London homes have a washing machine). Bed linens are included but towels are not, so you should bring your own. In a city the size of London, you should expect to travel up to one hour from your accommodation to the school.

Please note: students under the age of 18 MUST book homestay lodging with this package.

Alternatively, we can add accommodation in the school’s student residence in Hammersmith, which is just 15 minutes away from the school on the underground. This residence offers self-catering studios with en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a study space. Bed linens are included but towels are not, so you should bring your own. The building has its own laundry room, with coin-operated machines that you can use during your stay. You are responsible for keeping your room/studio clean and tidy, though you can arrange a cleaning service on-site for an additional fee. You’ll have access to the building’s facilities, which include a games room, a lounge area, a gym, a dining room, a communal kitchen, a first-floor courtyard, and secure bicycle storage. When you select this accommodation option, you’ll receive a whopping £75 discount on the cost of your Christmas course, thanks to a special seasonal deal this school is offering!

If you prefer, you are welcome to book just your tuition with us and arrange your own lodging in London. Students under the age of 18 will not eligible to stay in the student residence and will therefore need to arrange their own accommodation.

Activities

To complement your language tuition, our school also offers an extensive selection of social and cultural activities.

These include:
• guided visits to local museums and monuments
• trips to local Christmas markets
• English film screenings
• river boat trip to Greenwich
• language workshops and seminars
• visit to Winter Wonderland and other seasonal attractions
• social events as organised by the school
• Christmas dinner with your teachers and fellow students
• trip to London’s New Year’s Day parade
• half-day excursions to local points of interest

All activities are conducted in English, which means you’ll be able to practice your language skills even when outside the classroom. Most of the activities offered in alongside this programme are Christmas-themed; you’ll therefore get a lot of insight into English festive traditions, as well as learning about London’s long history. Some activities may incur an additional fee to cover entrance and/or transportation costs.
