Spanish Club 50+ courses in Benalmadena
Our Spanish Club 50+ courses in Benalmádena take place at our Spanish language school located in the suburban district of Arroyo de la Miel. This is a colourful, lively town, yet it remains small enough to offer tranquillity and total Spanish immersion. The language centre has 10 air-conditioned classrooms and a spacious sun terrace with its own cafeteria - there’s nothing better than a drink or snack up here between lessons! Some of the classrooms are on the ground floor and are therefore accessible for students in a wheelchair or with reduced mobility. The building boats a library with multi-media learning resources, a cinema room, and several common areas for students’ use.
Since it’s located in a residential area, this school is ideally placed to offer an authentic Spanish experience. Just 15 minutes’ walk away you’ll find the Teleférico cable car, which climbs 769 metres above the town to the summit of Mount Calamorro. From here you can see the Spanish countryside, Gibraltar, and even - on a clear day - the coast of Africa! This vantage point also affords excellent views of the Moorish watchtowers standing sentinel on the shore, the Parque de Paloma - with its lakes, picnic spaces, and collection of free-roaming animals - and the iconic Marina, which is arguably the central hub of the town and which boasts a wide range of local shops and eateries. All these attractions are within an easy walk or short drive from the school building; with a bus stop at the end of the road, you won’t need to travel far to be able to access them.
With accreditations from the Cervantes Institute and the Spanish Federation of Schools of Spanish for Foreigners (FEDELE), this school offers demonstrably high-quality language tuition. The school also has a sister travel company that is based in the building next door, where you can book additional cultural visits and weekend trips, and also get advice on rental cars and other tourist services.
Club 50+ course in Benalmadena
The Club 50+ programme offered by this school consists of 20 Spanish lessons each week (4 classes per weekday) in groups of no more than 10. Lessons take place between 09:30 and 13:00 and are followed by a selection of social/cultural activities designed with mature students in mind. Tuition is suitable for all students, from complete beginners to advanced-level learners. Classes follow the same format as the standard Intensive programme, with the exception that students must be over the age of 50 to be eligible.
The Club 50+ course can be taken for 2 weeks at a time and has specific start dates throughout the year.
Please note: this school requires a minimum number of students for this programme to proceed. If too few students enrol on the Club 50+ course on any given date, students who have booked this programme will be swapped to standard tuition in mixed-age classes. Enrolled students will still take part in Club 50+ activities in restricted-age groups.
Accommodation is not included in the Club 50+ programme as standard but can be added to your tuition package.
For a fully immersive experience, we recommend that you select homestay lodging. Hosts live up to 15 minutes’ travel from the school by public transport and all offer a safe and comfortable environment for you during your language course. You’ll stay with a native Spaniard and be able to practice Spanish with them, allowing you to carry on learning even outside the classroom. Hosts offer private single or twin* bedrooms and 1 or 2 meals per day as part of your accommodation package (breakfast or breakfast and lunch). You will share the living and bathroom facilities with your host(s) and any other students living in the home. Bed linens and a weekly laundry service are included but towels are not, so you should bring your own. You will have your own key to come and go as you please, but you must respect house rules and schedules.
If you prefer more privacy, a studio apartment would be the best option. Available studios vary in size and cost; please contact us if you’re interested in exploring this option.
*Twin rooms are only available to students travelling together.
All accommodation is available between the Sunday before your course starts and the Saturday after your course finishes. Check-in and check-out times vary based on the type of lodging selected.
The Club 50+ package includes a selection of social and cultural activities designed to supplement your Spanish tuition and give you the best possible experience in Benalmádena. You’re guaranteed to have 6 activities per week, though others may also be available. Possible activities include:
- Guided tours of the town
- Visits to local museums and/or art galleries
- Spanish film screenings
- An evening outing with your teachers, such as a meal or show (food/entrance not included)
- Seminars on Spanish arts and literature

You are also welcome to attend the sessions offered to all students on the general activity programme if you wish.
This programme is ideal for mature students wanting to study Spanish with other international learners of a similar age. Tuition is suitable for students of any ability level, from beginner right up to advanced. You do not need to start your course on a specific date if you are a beginner; since this programme only runs at certain times of year, all available start dates are suitable for all students, regardless of their starting language level.
Please contact us if you are unsure if this programme would be suitable for you; we will be happy to advise you.
