Spanish Club 50+ courses, Seville

Spanish Club 50+ course in Seville

20 Spanish lessons per week
Small class sizes that benefit mature students
Daily activities (excludes Sundays)

Our Spanish Club 50+ courses in Seville take place at our Premium language school in the city centre. A city of plazas, fountains, and festivals, Seville is renowned for its strikingly ornate architecture and its rich and delicious cuisine. Our Premium school has 35 classrooms and a spacious ground-floor patio with a cafeteria. The building has a library with various resources that will help to complement your classroom tuition. You can use the self-study room and the student lounge to catch up on schoolwork or simply to relax between lessons. If you want to soak up some sun after class, look no further: the school has its own sizeable rooftop terrace - there’s even a small pool!

Just a short walk away is the main historical hub of Seville, with its winding alleyways and narrow ‘kissing streets’. The Museum of Fine Arts - showcasing some of the best European paintings and sculptures in a splendid 17th-century palace - is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the language centre. History buffs will love the Roman mosaics in the beautiful Lebrija Palace and the extensive ruins in the Antiquarium, which lies beneath the contrastingly futuristic ‘Setas’ Parasol. Across the river in Triana you’ll find the Ceramics Museum, which takes visitors on a whistle-stop tour of the long history of pottery and tiles made in the city. Triana is also the best district for local markets selling delicious food and hand-made crafts. The nearest bus stop is just around the corner from the school building, so you can easily explore all these attractions and more during your time here.

This school is accredited by the Cervantes Institute and is a member of the International Association of Language Centres (IALC). It’s been welcoming international pupils for over 30 years, so its teachers are accustomed to providing dynamic tuition to students of all ability levels. These credentials demonstrate the high standard of language instruction available here, while the school’s central location means you’re in the best place for your immersive Spanish experience.

Club 50+ course in Seville

The Club 50+ package offered by this school consists of 20 Spanish lessons each week (4 classes per weekday) in groups of no more than 8. Lessons take place between 09:15 and 13:00 and are followed by a selection of social/cultural activities designed with mature students in mind. Tuition is suitable for all students, from complete beginners to advanced-level learners. Classes follow the same format as the standard Intensive programme, with the exception that students must be over the age of 50 to be eligible. Course materials for this programme are purchased on-site.

The Club 50+ course can be taken for 2 weeks at a time and has specific start dates throughout the year.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the Club 50+ programme as standard but can be added to your tuition package.

For maximum Spanish immersion, we suggest staying with a local homestay host. You’ll live with a native Spaniard and be able to practice Spanish with them, so you can carry on learning even outside the classroom. Hosts live up to 25 minutes’ walk from the school and all offer a safe and comfortable living environment. You’ll have a private bedroom and 1, 2, or all 3 meals per day as part of your accommodation package (half-board includes breakfast and lunch). Special diets - such as vegan, gluten-/lactose-free, halal, etc. - can be provided for an additional fee (does not include vegetarian diets). As standard, you’ll share the living and bathroom facilities with your host(s) and any other students living in the home, though some hosts can offer rooms with private bathroom access (subject to availability). Bed linens, towels, and a weekly laundry service are included in the accommodation package. You will have your own key to come and go as you please, but you must respect house rules and schedules.

If you prefer complete independence and privacy, an apartment would be the best option for you. You’ll have a private, self-contained studio complete with its own bathroom and fully-equipped kitchenette. There are two types of apartment to choose from: a standard studio or an executive studio. Standard studios are approximately 30 m² and may be either a single or double* apartment. Executive studios are slightly larger, at around 60 m², and boast a double room as standard (suitable for one or two people) as well as a separate lounge area. Bed linens and towels are provided in both types of studio; all studios also have air-conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. Both types of studio are located in the Santa Ana complex, which is just 10 minutes’ walk from the school. The building has its own rooftop terrace and an on-site laundry room that’s available to all residents.

*Twin rooms are only available to students travelling together. The only exception to this is the double executive studio, which can be booked by an individual student travelling alone.

Accommodation is available from the Sunday before the start of your course until the Saturday after your course finishes. Check-in and check-out times are usually very flexible.

Suitability

This programme is ideal for mature students wanting to study Spanish with other international learners of a similar age. Tuition is suitable for students of any ability level, from complete beginners to advanced-level learners. You do not need to start your course on a specific date if you are a beginner; since this programme only runs at certain times of year, all available start dates are appropriate for all students, regardless of their starting language level.

Please contact us if you are unsure if this programme would be suitable for you; we will be happy to advise you.

How to get there

Seville Airport is a 30-minute drive from the city centre and is easily accessible from many European cities.

From here, you can either take public transport to your accommodation or we can add an airport transfer service to your booking for an additional charge. If you select this service, a driver will be waiting for you at the airport when you land and will take you directly to your accommodation. If you select this service on departure as well, you will be collected from your lodging on your last day and taken back to the airport in time for your departing flight. Airport transfers are also available at Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, and Málaga.

You should arrange to arrive in Seville on the Sunday before the course starts and depart on the Saturday after the course finishes. We may be able to arrange extra nights on arrival and/or departure for you if needed.
