Spanish Club 50+ course in Seville

20 Spanish lessons per week
Small class sizes that benefit mature students
Daily activities (excludes Sundays)

Our Spanish Club 50+ courses in Seville take place at our Premium language school in the city centre. A city of plazas, fountains, and festivals, Seville is renowned for its strikingly ornate architecture and its rich and delicious cuisine. Our Premium school has 35 classrooms and a spacious ground-floor patio with a cafeteria. The building has a library with various resources that will help to complement your classroom tuition. You can use the self-study room and the student lounge to catch up on schoolwork or simply to relax between lessons. If you want to soak up some sun after class, look no further: the school has its own sizeable rooftop terrace - there’s even a small pool!

Just a short walk away is the main historical hub of Seville, with its winding alleyways and narrow ‘kissing streets’. The Museum of Fine Arts - showcasing some of the best European paintings and sculptures in a splendid 17th-century palace - is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the language centre. History buffs will love the Roman mosaics in the beautiful Lebrija Palace and the extensive ruins in the Antiquarium, which lies beneath the contrastingly futuristic ‘Setas’ Parasol. Across the river in Triana you’ll find the Ceramics Museum, which takes visitors on a whistle-stop tour of the long history of pottery and tiles made in the city. Triana is also the best district for local markets selling delicious food and hand-made crafts. The nearest bus stop is just around the corner from the school building, so you can easily explore all these attractions and more during your time here.

This school is accredited by the Cervantes Institute and is a member of the International Association of Language Centres (IALC). It’s been welcoming international pupils for over 30 years, so its teachers are accustomed to providing dynamic tuition to students of all ability levels. These credentials demonstrate the high standard of language instruction available here, while the school’s central location means you’re in the best place for your immersive Spanish experience.

Club 50+ course in Seville

The Club 50+ package offered by this school consists of 20 Spanish lessons each week (4 classes per weekday) in groups of no more than 8. Lessons take place between 09:15 and 13:00 and are followed by a selection of social/cultural activities designed with mature students in mind. Tuition is suitable for all students, from complete beginners to advanced-level learners. Classes follow the same format as the standard Intensive programme, with the exception that students must be over the age of 50 to be eligible. Course materials for this programme are purchased on-site.

The Club 50+ course can be taken for 2 weeks at a time and has specific start dates throughout the year.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the Club 50+ programme as standard but can be added to your tuition package.

For maximum Spanish immersion, we suggest staying with a local homestay host. You’ll live with a native Spaniard and be able to practice Spanish with them, so you can carry on learning even outside the classroom. Hosts live up to 25 minutes’ walk from the school and all offer a safe and comfortable living environment. You’ll have a private bedroom and 1, 2, or all 3 meals per day as part of your accommodation package (half-board includes breakfast and lunch). Special diets - such as vegan, gluten-/lactose-free, halal, etc. - can be provided for an additional fee (does not include vegetarian diets). As standard, you’ll share the living and bathroom facilities with your host(s) and any other students living in the home, though some hosts can offer rooms with private bathroom access (subject to availability). Bed linens, towels, and a weekly laundry service are included in the accommodation package. You will have your own key to come and go as you please, but you must respect house rules and schedules.

If you prefer complete independence and privacy, an apartment would be the best option for you. You’ll have a private, self-contained studio complete with its own bathroom and fully-equipped kitchenette. There are two types of apartment to choose from: a standard studio or an executive studio. Standard studios are approximately 30 m² and may be either a single or double* apartment. Executive studios are slightly larger, at around 60 m², and boast a double room as standard (suitable for one or two people) as well as a separate lounge area. Bed linens and towels are provided in both types of studio; all studios also have air-conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. Both types of studio are located in the Santa Ana complex, which is just 10 minutes’ walk from the school. The building has its own rooftop terrace and an on-site laundry room that’s available to all residents.

*Twin rooms are only available to students travelling together. The only exception to this is the double executive studio, which can be booked by an individual student travelling alone.

Accommodation is available from the Sunday before the start of your course until the Saturday after your course finishes. Check-in and check-out times are usually very flexible.

Activities

The Club 50+ package includes a selection of social and cultural activities designed to supplement your Spanish tuition and give you the best possible experience in Seville. You’re guaranteed to have 4 activities per week, though others may also be available.

You’re guaranteed to have the following activities:
- An orientation walk through the city
- A welcome drink
- A meal with your teacher and fellow classmates
- A visit to a flamenco show
- A cookery class
- A highlight activity according to the time of travel (wine and gastronomy or art and culture)

Other activities may also be available, such as:
- Visits to local museums and/or art galleries
- Spanish film screenings
- Ceramics workshops in Triana
- Trips to attractions such as the Cathedral and/or the Jardines de Murillo
- Tapas ‘caminas’ through the city
- Grammar and/or culture workshops
- Full-day excursions to locations such as Estepa, Sierra Norte National Park, and Cádiz

You are also welcome to attend the sessions offered to all students on the general activity programme if you wish.

Suitability

This programme is ideal for mature students wanting to study Spanish with other international learners of a similar age. Tuition is suitable for students of any ability level, from complete beginners to advanced-level learners. You do not need to start your course on a specific date if you are a beginner; since this programme only runs at certain times of year, all available start dates are appropriate for all students, regardless of their starting language level.

Please contact us if you are unsure if this programme would be suitable for you; we will be happy to advise you.

How to get there

Seville Airport is a 30-minute drive from the city centre and is easily accessible from many European cities.

From here, you can either take public transport to your accommodation or we can add an airport transfer service to your booking for an additional charge. If you select this service, a driver will be waiting for you at the airport when you land and will take you directly to your accommodation. If you select this service on departure as well, you will be collected from your lodging on your last day and taken back to the airport in time for your departing flight. Airport transfers are also available at Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, and Málaga.

You should arrange to arrive in Seville on the Sunday before the course starts and depart on the Saturday after the course finishes. We may be able to arrange extra nights on arrival and/or departure for you if needed.

Taught by knowledgeable teachers who wanted to share their love of the language, culture and history of the region. Cultural activities were of a very high standard. Loved it!

Adequate and clean accommodation. Good distance from the school. Two problems with door and safe were fixed quickly.

I love my time in Seville. The school teaching was good and the 50+ activities were well thought out and enjoyable. I was initially put in a group which was a bit hard for me but the staff were helpful and moved me to a more suitable group on day 3.

I booked the studio and it was fine for my needs. Not luxurious but absolutely adequate. The location was good and it was quiet.

Overall a brilliant time!

I just want to say thank you to you and the school for a very well organised and thoroughly enjoyable six days in Seville.

This was perfect. My confidence in my Spanish has improved hugely as has my ability to think in Spanish, the organisation and instructions were spot on and it’s been a real pleasure.

Thank you. I’ll do it again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my course but would have appreciated more of putting sentences together and understanding the correct formation of sentences & phrases.

My family were really welcoming and patient with my language errors. They made me feel welcome at all times and boosted my confidence in trying to speak Spanish. I would highly recommend them as a host family.
Our teacher, Inma was funny and made it easier for us to learn by using a light-hearted approach and making us feel we could always approach her about any concerns. The excursions were all interesting and our guide, Violeta was lovely to be with. All the staff in the school were friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend Apple courses to my friends.

Loved it! CLIC was well organised from day one. Enjoyed all the cultural events. Staff all enthusiastic about their city & it’s history.

Although comfortable, accommodation very dated. Maria was very pleasant. Maybe I am just too old to be staying in someone else’s home!!

I would definitely recommend this course & college to others & thinking of returning next winter.

The teaching was very good - stretching but I coped! It was all very well organised and I would definitely recommend - and I hope to return.

Accommodation in a studio was absolutely fine. Everything clean and all the necessities were to hand. The street itself was a bit noisy, but given the central location that was to be expected.

I feel very fortunate to have booked what turned out to be a really first class course with excellent support to help me do it. It can be a bit daunting doing something like this for the first time, but I'm really pleased that I did and the support/info from Apple was really helpful.

Mercedes was an excellent teacher & there was a lot of interactivity & fun in the programme as well as serious study. B1.2 course clarified & explained grammar points clearly. I wish I could have stayed longer & will go back.

The school was very well organised. My teacher was good but often spoke too fast for me to understand, so I didn’t learn as much as I had hoped. I enjoyed the interaction with the other students; the activities and excursions were great; and I made friends from all over the world.

The lady I stayed with was very pleasant. She cooked for me every evening and there was plenty of food.

I would definitely use Apple Languages again, I had an enjoyable time and would go on another Club 50 language course.

CLub 50 Course. Excellent staff, great teachers, good facilities, exemplary cleanliness. I stayed in a second floor accommodation with stairs which was bad for my knees. I really enjoyed the hostess. Attentive, friendly and kind. .

I have just completed a two week Club 50 Spanish course in Seville. I have had such a marvellous time and cannot fault the school and its teaching, my Spanish host or the cultural programme that was offered to me. I made some wonderful friends from all around the world with whom I hope to keep in touch.

At this point I must also thank you all at Apple for the support you gave me in the preliminary arrangements for this trip. It was obvious from the start that you are a very professional organisation and this eliminated any fears or anxieties that I may have had at the beginning of my venture. This efficiency, competence and support was mirrored in Seville at the school.
