French Gastronomy and Wine in Antibes

Located on the French Riviera, Antibes boasts a stretch of glittering coastline and sandy beaches — it’s no wonder the culinary and creative mind has been inspired for centuries in this ancient city.
Antibes has long been popular for artists and writers alike having connections to household names like the legendary painter Monet, the iconic artist Pablo Picasso and the celebrated wordsmith F. Scott Fitzgerald. This charming Mediterranean town is steeped in tradition, offering vibrant markets like the Marché Provençal, filled with fresh produce, herbs, and seafood. Students can refine their French language skills while exploring the art of cooking and wine pairing, using exceptional local ingredients and learning from the region’s rich culinary heritage.
No matter where you find yourself in Antibes, delectable Mediterranean food paired with the finest of wines will be close at hand. Fresh seafood is no hard find either, with the seaside right on your doorstep, providing an abundance of delicious fish for stews and other spectacular dishes.

Cookery course
The course consists of two components: Intensive French and Cooking Classes.
The Intensive French lessons take place Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-12:20 pm and includes a 20 minute break. You will have 20 French lessons a week in groups of no more than 12 students. You will cover oral and written comprehension, grammar, speaking skills and pronunciation.
The cooking classes are led by experts in the intricacies and secrets of French cuisine. You’ll be able to whip up a gourmet French meal for your family in no time!
Additionally, the course has a variety of activities for students to further immerse themselves in the language and culture. Activities are catered to help promote real-life, everyday interactions in conversational French.
A typical week schedule would consist of daily French lessons, a weekly cooking workshop, a wine tasting activity or tour, excursions with wine or food tasting, a free day and another activity involving the local area and culture.
The course is available to all levels. Students will complete a French level test prior to the course start date to ensure they are placed in the appropriate group.
Accommodation
Modern Studio apartments in a quiet neighbourhood are available for students during their time in Antibes. Located just between Antibes and Juan les-Pins, the apartments are a 20 minute walk from the school, giving you time to experience the everyday bustle of locals on your stroll without being arduous.
The studio apartments include Wi-Fi, a kitchenette and a paid laundry facility. Students will also have access to the building’s garden and patio.
And if you fancy unwinding near the seaside, you needn’t look further than 500 yards.
Activities
Antibes is situated near the Côtes de Provence wine region which is known for its light and rose coloured wines. You can unwind with a glass — but instead of the sofa, you can enjoy one of the world-famous rose wines under the radiant Antibes sun on one of the wine tasting tours offered during this course.
Guided excursions will be conducted by local experts to introduce and familiarise students with the city and its culture. Some excursions may include the Chateau de Cremat for a wine tasting and vineyard tour, or a day in the city of Nice with a local food tour.
