The Italian and Cookery Course in Florence is an immersive experience blending Italian language learning with hands-on culinary training, offering 20 Italian lessons and 8 Cookery sessions per week. Designed for those eager to delve into Italy's language and cuisine, this course is ideal for students wanting to deepen their Italian skills while uncovering the secrets of traditional Italian dishes. The programme is hosted by our main Italian school in Florence, combining language instruction at our school with culinary sessions at the School of Culinary Arts.
The course includes morning Italian language lessons Monday through Friday, covering a range of skill levels from beginner to advanced. Each lesson is counted as 45 minutes of tuition, with an average of 11 students per class, allowing for personalised attention. In the afternoons, students dive into the world of Italian cooking, with a particular focus on Tuscan cuisine. Over the course of 2-4 weeks, participants are introduced to culinary traditions from various regions of Italy, exploring techniques, ingredients, and recipes in a friendly and professional setting. No prior culinary experience is required, making this an accessible programme for all food enthusiasts.
Classes are available for 2, 3 or 4 weeks in multiple sessions throughout the year, running from January to November, with new start dates each month. Students with prior knowledge of the Italian language can join language sessions on any Monday. However, this special Italian and Cookery programme is not offered during the high season in August.

Accommodation
Staying with a local Host Family provides full language immersion for students on the Italian and Cookery course in Florence, as all hosts are native Italian speakers. Hosts live within 15 minutes of the school by public transport and offer private single or twin* rooms, along with access to communal areas such as the lounge and bathroom. Meal options include breakfast-only, or half-board, depending on your requirements. Hosts provide bed linens, towels, and weekly laundry services, with most offering Wi-Fi. A €100 security deposit is required on arrival, refundable upon departure if the room is left in good condition. Students under 18 must book the half-board option.
For more independence, students can choose Shared Apartment accommodation, sharing with other international students. This self-catering option includes a private bedroom* and shared kitchen, bathroom, and living spaces. Apartments are budget-friendly, located up to 20 minutes from the school, and include bed linens, towels, and utilities. Most have Wi-Fi and a washing machine for laundry. Utilities are paid directly to the owner, and a €100 security deposit is required on arrival, refundable if the apartment is left in good condition. Double-occupancy apartments are available for students traveling together.
*Twin rooms are only available to students traveling together; solo travellers must book a single room.

Enhance your Italian language studies with our Florence school’s social and cultural activities, held in Italian to reinforce language immersion and practical skills. These events, offered in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends, provide insights into Italian history, culture, and life in Florence.
Activities include city tours, visits to iconic sites like the Uffizi Gallery and Duomo, Italian film nights, aperitivo gatherings, music events, and cultural lectures. Excursions to nearby destinations such as Pisa and Chianti are also available. Many activities are free, though some may require a fee for entry or transport. The schedule varies seasonally, ensuring a fresh and engaging experience.
How to get there
Florence Peretola Airport, just 20 minutes from the city centre, is easily accessible from international destinations. You can travel to your lodging independently or book our airport transfer service for a convenient direct ride.
Plan to arrive on the Sunday before your course begins and depart the Saturday after it ends. Additional nights can be arranged upon request.
