This practical combined cooking and language course offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the flavourful world of Spanish cuisine all the while building your Spanish language skills. You’ll learn about the ingredients fundamental to Spanish cooking, the craftsmanship and techniques required for traditional dishes, and the preparation of a full Spanish menu. Additionally, you’ll learn Spanish at the level you’re at — whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student.
Considered a hotspot for Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine, Valencia boasts countless opportunities to broaden your palette and enrich your personal cookbooks with its tantalising flavours with centuries worth of refinement. An undeniable staple within a plethora of Valencian dishes is rice — found in popular dishes such as arroz en perdiú and rossjat. And if seafood tickles your fancy, Valencia’s proximity to the sea will allow you to enjoy the characteristic method of preparing fish in the region: salazón.

Cookery course
The Spanish and Cooking course in Valencia is a combined course featuring a 1-4 week cooking course alongside a Spanish language course. The Spanish course is offered at different levels from beginner to advanced, but the cooking course is the same overall.
Cooking classes will be 6 lessons per week over 2 days weekly — each lesson being 50 minutes long in small groups of around five students. During the cooking course, students will learn the fundamentals of Spanish cooking and ingredients — gaining the ability to cook a full Spanish menu by the end of the programme.
Some potential dishes include Arroz al horno and Torrija de horchata.

Accommodation
You’ll have no shortage of options for accommodation during your stay in Valencia.
If you prefer a more immersive experience with additional opportunities to develop your conversational Spanish with native speakers, a Host Family may be the option for you. Host family options include single or double rooms with breakfast, half board or full board included. Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning of rooms, weekly laundry, bed linen and towels are also provided. The average distance to the school is 25 minutes by public transport.
If you prefer more independence during your stay, one of the Shared Apartment could be a perfect fit.
The standard shared apartments come in either single or double rooms and are self-catered with the communal kitchen. There is weekly cleaning of the common rooms, bed linen and towels — as well as laundry facilities and Wi-Fi. Standard shared apartments are approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the school.
The central shared apartments include a private bathroom in both single and double room options. There is weekly cleaning of common areas and rooms, as well as bed linens and towel. Central shared apartments also include air conditioning in both common areas and rooms. It is self-catered with access to a kitchen, along with a fridge in each room. Wi-Fi is included and the apartments are approximately a 3 minute walk from the school.
Our school has a diverse selection of Residences available to students for a more communal experience. Resiole Boutique, La Nave and Mercado have a range of single and double room options with Wi-Fi, communal kitchens and laundry facilities. All buildings range from a 6 to 12 minute walk from the school. If you prefer a bit more privacy but still want the shared residence feel, El Puerto offers single studios with private bathrooms and kitchens at just a 35 minute walk or 10 minute cycle from the school. Wi-Fi and laundry facilities are available. Bed linens and towels are included for all residences.
