Our English language school is located in Santa Monica, a city with its own distinct personality and atmosphere that borders the communities of West Los Angeles.
Just around the corner from the modern school building you will find Third Street Promenade - a pedestrianised shopping area that is home to a broad range of shops, fooderies and leisure facilities. The traffic-free zone also attracts street performers of all different genres, meaning a visit provides entertainment in addition to retail therapy!
In the opposite direction, but still only 10 minutes on foot from the school, you will find the Santa Monica History Museum, which features permanent exhibits on the Tongva, the original inhabitants of the Santa Monica Bay area; and a detailed explanation on the town’s rise as a resort destination. A short journey by public transport away is Bergamot Station Arts Center, a former railroad station that now houses around 30 art galleries.
No information on Santa Monica would be complete without mentioning the sandy beach, which stretches 3.5 miles alongside the Pacific Ocean, and is a prime example of the famed Southern California state beaches. Head here for a range of outdoor pursuits, including walking, biking and skating on the promenade, and surfing. Or, pack a beach blanket and just chill and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of the area!
