In spite of its golden, sandy beaches and glorious Mediterranean climate, Murcia remains somewhat of a hidden gem. Compared with some of the larger Spanish cities, Murcia attracts few tourists each year and for this reason has managed to retain its authentic charm, making it the ideal destination for A-level Spanish students. Prepare to be fully immersed into the language and culture of this beautiful city, where you can truly experience life like a local and will never run out of opportunities to put your Spanish skills into practice, even outside of the classroom! Murcia is a university town, giving it a youthful atmosphere and a vibrant nightlife, yet the city is small enough to explore on foot, so you will find yourself acquainted with the area and its inhabitants in no time!
Our Spanish school in Murcia is located in the city-centre, just opposite the university and within easy reach of the city’s main attractions.

Courses in Murcia
Our A-Level course consists of 25 lessons per week (20 general Spanish lessons + 5 exam preparation lessons). Lessons are held on a Monday - Friday basis, from 10:00am until 2:30pm.

The general Spanish lessons take place in groups of 2-10 students and the exam preparation lessons are held in smaller groups (max. 3 students)
Level:
This course is designed for high-school students with previous experience learning Spanish at school (approximate Spanish level: B1)
Suitability:
Suitable for students preparing for their AS or A2-Level Spanish examinations, as well as the Irish Leaving Certificate or International Baccalaureate.
Course content:
The 20 general Spanish lessons will focus on:
• Grammar improvement and applying grammar rules in context
• Building upon vocabulary
• Idiomatic expressions
• Improving four main aspects of Spanish language (speaking, listening reading, writing)
The exam preparation lessons will cover:
• Assimilation of grammatical and lexical structures
• Student presentations to improve oral communication
• Debates
• Grammar and vocabulary relevant to the AS/A2 level Spanish exam
• Study skills
Accommodation
Accommodation is offered with host families in twin or single rooms on a half-board or full-board basis. This is a great option for A-level students, as it will really give you the opportunity to experience Spanish language and culture in an authentic context. All of the school’s host families have been specially selected by our colleagues in Murcia and many of them have many years’ experience hosting students from all over the globe.
Please note that twin rooms in host family accommodation are only available for students travelling together.
Activities
The school offer a wide range of activities, allowing you to socialise with your fellow classmates you and practice your Spanish outside of the classroom. A timetable of activities will be available at the school and you can book and pay for these activities upon your arrival! All activities are conducted in Spanish to give maximum exposure to the language. Activities vary week by week, but may include:

Optional airport transfers can be arranged upon arrival / departure from Murcia or Alicante Airport. Please note that this service is not included in the course price.
