Come and prepare for your A-Levels on the beautiful Côte D’Azur! Our French language school in Nice is situated right in the heart of the city, where you can experience life in the French Riviera first-hand, making it the ideal location in which to take an A-Level revision course.
The school itself is surrounded by its own private gardens, providing the perfect setting for you to do homework, chat with peers or simply relax after class whilst soaking up the glorious Mediterranean climate. What’s more, the school’s central location means that practicing French outside of the classroom has never been so simple! With countless shops and restaurants within easy reach, you and your classmates will have plenty of opportunities to interact with the locals and explore the city’s main attractions.

Courses in Nice
You will receive 28 lessons per week. 20 of these lessons will work on improving your overall knowledge of the language and will be taken in mixed-age groups of international learners. These lessons take place on a Monday to Friday basis, from 08:45 to 12:00 or 15:30-18:45 (with a 15-minute break included). The timetable will be confirmed on arrival once all students have taken their level test and have been placed into groups.
Three afternoons per week you will also have lessons 13:15-15:15. These sessions will be dedicated specifically to A-Level Revision.

This course is designed for high-school students with approximately 4-6 years’ experience learning French at school (level B1)
Suitability:
This French A-Level Revision course offers intensive French language revision targeted towards preparation for the French AS or A2-Level exam, Irish Leaving Certificate or International Baccalaureate.
Course content:
Morning lessons aim to improve general French language skills, while afternoons are devoted to specific A-level preparation. Both morning and afternoon session will cover:
• Linguistic skills (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary)
• Four main aspects of the French language (speaking, listening, reading and writing)
• Description and analysis of French texts (spoken and written). This could include prose, articles or iconographic documents
• Oral presentation skills
• Writing skills (translation, essays, summaries, etc.)
• French history and culture
• Debates
Students will be given 1-2 hours homework each day, which will be corrected and analysed in class the following day. Material used in class will usually focus on French literature and civilisation.

Accommodation
Stay with one of our school’s carefully selected French host families and experience life like a local. Our school’s families have experience in hosting students of all ages and nationalities, and will help you to feel at home during your time in Nice, ensuring that you are as integrated as possible. Staying with a local family is ideal for students preparing for exams, as it provides total immersion to the French language and culture!
Accommodation is provided in single or twin rooms with half-board (2 meals per day) from the Sunday before the course starts until the Saturday after it finishes.
Activities
In addition to French lessons, our school in Nice also organise an extensive cultural activity programme. This will complement your A-Level revision course perfectly, giving you a great opportunity to practice the French skills that you have learnt outside the classroom! Some activities are free to attend and others incur a small fee, but they can all be booked and paid for upon arrival.
Activities vary depending upon the time of year, but typically include: Food tasting, museum visits, excursions to nearby towns and cities, guided tours, cookery lessons, sports activities, French cinema.
How to get there
An airport transfer from Nice Airport is included in the price for students staying with host families (arrival on weekends between 8:00am and 10:00pm).
