Accommodation
Available accommodation
We encourage students to stay with French speaking host families, which will give you the perfect opportunity to become totally immersed in the language and culture of Montreal. Host families are carefully selected by our colleagues at the school and provide a warm and welcoming environment for your stay in the city. Your host family will provide half board (2 meals each day), giving you even more opportunities to practise! For accommodation with a private bathroom, just select the Host Family Plus option.
Alternatively, students can stay in a nearby Shared Apartments, located just 15 minutes’ walk from the school. Each apartment is comprised of 3-5 single rooms, is equipped with a shared kitchen and bathroom and provides students with access to laundry facilities, a gym and Wi-Fi. There are also common areas where you can relax and meet other students, and a recreational room with a pool table.
Activities
Like many of our other French language schools, our school in Montreal organises a cultural program of visits and activities, which helps students use their French skills outside of the classroom. Activities may include welcome tours of Montreal, visits to places on interest within the city, sports activities, karaoke evenings, boat cruised along the St. Lawrence River, cycling trips, and even excursions to Niagara Falls and Quebec. Your language immersion programme wouldn’t be complete without our school’s activity programme!
How to get there
Fly to Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Montreal, also known as 'Montreal Trudeau'. From there you can take a bus to the centre of Montreal, or if you prefer we can arrange a private transfer on arrival, which will take you directly to your accommodation. My f2f class was great - esp as I had a great teacher. I can highly recommend her - in case I decide to take a refresher course next year, it‘s because of her.

I was very impressed by the school in Montreal. The standard of teaching was excellent and they really did manage to pitch the lessons to my existing level of French so I could progress. Both the teachers and the students were all very friendly. The food was fantastic and both of my host family parents were extremely welcoming.
- L. Robinson
Good course overall with small groups which was ideal for language learning. The trips at the weekend were fantastic opportunities to visit the surrounding areas and the evenings to bars and clubs were equally good but the itinerary perhaps lacked some alcohol-free activites (sports for example) to allow people to meet each other in a more relaxed setting. I stayed with a very nice host, they were very helpful and friendly. The food was always provided and the offer of washing was made. My room was equally good and access to a computer which was a huge bonus. I was very happy there.
- L. Gibb
I was only able to take the course for one week, which I realize was not nearly enough, but I was extremely impressed with the organization, and particularly the teacher. As I am somewhat older than most of the students, I was slightly concerned about my ability to be 'back in school' but found the whole experience quite inspiring.
- M. Jocelyn
I had a great experience that i'll never forget. I got to know people from all around the world, and made many good friends. In my accommodation I felt really comfortable and free.

My tutor was excellent, very helpful and encouraging. I really appreciated the social programme and the range of activities on offer for us. My host family accommodation was a very useful way to practise my French.
- P. Mackwood
I thought the course was very well structured, and the various school activities allowed for students to gain a cultural appreciation for the location. Most importantly the school made the learning environment fun, and the credit for that goes to the teachers and administration who don't give up on you, and won't allow you to give up on yourself! My accommodation was excellent - a great French family, nice house, and a taste for various cuisines made it memorable. An added bonus was that I was never the only foreign language student staying with the family, and having someone to relate to helped me settle into the house and city quite quickly!
- J. Bellot
