Many students choose to learn French in Tours because it lies in one of the most beautiful and historic regions of France – the Loire Valley. Known as the Garden of France, the Loire Valley was long favoured by the French Kings, and it’s easy to see why! With countless chateaux, fine wines and great weather, it’s a favourite with our students too. The people of Tours speak French without a regional accent, so it’s an ideal choice if you really want to perfect your French. Intensive 21 with Host Family
The 21h Intensive course at the Institut de Touraine was really helpful in being full immersed in the French language and being able to discuss current events in French news and French culture within comprehensive lessons of phonetics and grammar.
Staying with a host family was a pleasant experience, and the accommodation was nice.

Course
Very enjoyable experience, much variety of students from around the world. The course was comprehensive and interesting, and it seems that I have made a great improvement in French in only 2 weeks.
Accommodation
Good town in France in which to stay and visit, close to Paris but ideally less busy and many students to meet and lots of sightseeing to be done. Staying with a French family, particularly in a large house with other students, was very beneficial for practice in speaking French and for getting to know the food and culture in France.

Course
The course was quite satisfactory. The Institute had great teachers and facilities. It was recreational learning. There wasn't much homework or work. Regardless, I learned tons.
Accommodation
My accommadation was pretty good. My host was a single, older woman who was really nice and a great cook. The house was comfortable enough.
- O. Post
I found both my teachers very capable and conscientious in their preparation of lessons. I learnt a lot. The accommodation was superb! I felt extremely lucky to have such a delightful hostess who went to no end of trouble to make me feel welcome and to show me around Tours and the Loire valley. Her home was beautiful and comfortable. I couldn't have asked for more.
- V. Player
I felt that the course was very useful, particulary the conversation classes as there was only a small group of people per class.
- L. Masterton

The summer courses at Tours are incredibly well structured and it is a brilliant time to go there as you will meet students from all over the world. There are lots of activities outside of school hours to take part in if you want to. A great all round experience, so much so that I stayed on for an extra two weeks and have already arranged to go back again! A great experience, spending summer in the Loire valley. The local inhabitants of Tours were all very courteous and helpful. A great all round experience.
