Our school in Catania

Our Italian language school in Catania is on the second floor of a recently refurbished building and offers modern teaching facilities, including six bright, air-conditioned classrooms, all with televisions to support learning. At break time grab a snack or drink from one of the vending machines and catch up with classmates as you bask in the sunshine on the school’s own roof terrace. The school’s central position, just 350 metres away from Catania’s historical centre, means you can always pop out and grab a more authentic bite to eat if you need something more substantial! There is no shortage of traditional and international eateries in the area.

The school building is accessible for wheelchair users, and the team in the large reception area are always welcoming and ready to assist with any queries. Free Wi-Fi throughout the school makes keeping in touch with friends and family at home and planning the next excursion incredibly easy.

Students can rest assured that they’ll receive an excellent standard of tuition while abroad as our language school is officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education. All teachers are fully trained native Italian speakers with a passion for teaching foreign language students.

Accommodation options in Catania

In Catania, you can choose to stay with a Host Family, in a Bed & Breakfast, a Shared Apartment, a Studio Apartment, or book course only.

Students wanting to fully immerse themselves in the language and the culture while on their Italian language course in Catania can stay with one of our school’s host families. All hosts are native Italian speakers experienced with welcoming students to beautiful Catania. Learning can continue outside the classroom at mealtime, where you and your hosts can sit and chat — giving the perfect opportunity to brush up on conversational Italian. Host Family stays can be booked as single or double rooms (if travelling with someone), with board options of Bed & Breakfast, and Half Board.

Bed & Breakfasts are available for students who wish to have a private room and bathroom with breakfast included. In general, there is no student use of the kitchen, and all other meals must be arranged by the student.

The shared apartments are perfect if you want an added level of independence and privacy but maintain the option to socialize when you get back from your daily lessons and activities. Shared apartments contain a fully equipped shared kitchen to prepare your own meals, a shared bathroom and a common area. Students can book a private room on a self-catering basis.

Students wanting the maximum level or privacy can book a studio apartment. Studios are equipped with a private kitchenette and bathroom and are on a self-catering basis. Students travelling together can book a double room.

Available activities in Catania

Our school offers a range of immersive activities for students to participate in during their Italian course in Catania. You can join in on city tours, museum visits, Italian seminars, group dinners, and excursions to nearby cities such as Taormina and Syracuse. Activities tend to be scheduled in the afternoon after morning Italian lessons.

Many of the activities are free of charge, but some may incur a small entrance or transportation fee.

Catania Vincenzo Bellini International Airport (CTA) is located less than 10 km from the city centre, making the school easily accessible from across Europe. Students can reach the centre via frequent public bus services or by booking private single or return transfers through the school for an additional fee.
