Home to more than 200 museums and 50 theatres, as well as a stunning array of Baroque and neoclassical architecture, St Petersburg is a wonderful location for those who wish to experience true Russian culture! St Petersburg was founded by Tsar Peter I in 1703, and was the capital of the Russian Empire for more than 200 years! The historic centre of the city, where our Russian language school is located, has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
Most students do require a visa to study in St Petersburg. Whether you will require a tourist or student visa will depend on your nationality and length of stay. Our Russian Visas blog post gives further information on this.
