About our Sámara Beach school
Our school in Sámara Beach is right on the beach! Classrooms in the modern school building are all well-equipped, air-conditioned and boast stunning ocean views. Spanish classes sometimes take place in the school’s own lush gardens, or even on the beach itself!
The school also has a kitchen, study and lounge areas, and free Internet access. You will study in small groups with a maximum class size of just six students, so you’ll receive personal attention and plenty of speaking practice.

Available courses
The Intensive Spanish Course in Sámara Beach offers you 20 Spanish lessons each week, giving you plenty of personal time with your teachers. If you’d like the totally undivided attention of your tutors, our school’s program of Private Lessons is ideal! Or enjoy the best of both options with our Combined Course. This course combines group lessons with one-to-one sessions, in which you can concentrate on your own particular needs.
Help the local community as you learn Spanish in Sámara Beach! Our school can arrange volunteering opportunities in areas such as animal care, paramedic work, English tuition, social work, conservation and radio production, to name but a few. Volunteer Work will help you really get to know Costa Rica, its people, culture and language!

Available accommodation
The best way to learn faster is to practise Spanish as often as possible. Stay with one of our school’s host families and you’ll speak Spanish every day. We carefully select welcoming families, and we regularly inspect all host family accommodation. You’ll enjoy Costa Rican life and cuisine first-hand, with breakfast and dinner provided daily.
If you’d rather have more independence, choose our student residence next to the school. Our fully equipped Shared Apartments include a private bathroom, air conditioning and access to a shared kitchen. We also offer Studio Apartments, a two-bedroom option, with a private kitchen, bathroom and terrace.
Available activities in Sámara Beach
There’s always something new and exciting to do in Sámara Beach! Activity coordinators at the school organise surfing, dolphin and turtle watching, hiking trips, school parties, music and theatre shows, football matches and much more! Latin dance and music classes, exercise sessions, cookery lessons and movie-nights are also regularly offered. Use ‘intercambios’ to meet local Costa Rican English language students - a chance for everyone to improve their language skills!
Weekend excursions introduce you to some of Costa Rica’s glorious natural sights. Visit dramatic volcanoes, gorgeous, totally unspoilt beaches and the beautiful Monteverde Cloud Forest, with its amazing selection of wildlife!

The teachers were all really fun and they used lots of different learning methods….games, interviews, 'who am I?', etc. The course was totally in Spanish, with a small group of other students. The host family I stayed with were great. My room way clean, cool and had a desk to work at. My meals were all good, lots of variety.
