A location renowned for its stunning beaches, where the sands are golden-brown and the waters are crystal-clear, you won’t be able to resist the urge to practise a water sport during your time here. Not only can we arrange kitesurfing and windsurfing courses to take alongside your Spanish lessons, but also scuba diving courses for those who wish to explore life under Caribbean waters. Whatever your preference, you will certainly find the perfect course for you, whether you are a water sport novice or an expert!

Spanish and Diving
Students receive 20 Spanish lessons each week, which take place from Monday to Friday.
After your morning Spanish lessons, you will spend your afternoons exploring dazzling Caribbean waters. Sosua is within easy reach of over 19 dive sites, all just a short boat ride away, with glorious underwater temperatures all year round! The diving centre is located just 5 minutes’ walk from the school itself, where instruction is given by fully trained professionals.
You will spend 6 of your afternoons diving, which can be spread across two weeks. Groups for diving lessons are kept small, with a maximum of 4 students.
Course Duration: 1-2 weeks
Level: Both Spanish and diving is suitable for all levels.
Spanish and Kitesurfing/Windsurfing
Students receive 20 Spanish lessons each week, taking place on a Monday to Friday basis.
The surf centre is located in Cabarete Bay, a spot known as one of the best surfing areas in the world! Windsurf lessons take place on Cabarete Bay itself, and kitesurf lessons are held just 200m away, on Kite Beach. You will receive 3 windsurfing lessons or 5 kitesurfing lessons each week.
Kitesurfing/windsurfing courses are semi-private, with just 1-2 students per teacher, ensuring individual care and a more personalised learning experience. All equipment is provided.
Course Duration: 1-2 weeks
Level: Both Spanish and kitesurfing/windsurfing is available for students of all levels, from complete beginner through to advanced
Accommodation
- Stay in the school’s on-site residence, which is located in the school building itself. Each room includes a private bathroom, TV, refrigerator and fan. There is a community kitchen at the school, which can be used to prepare meals.
- Alternatively, you can stay in the school’s shared apartment, where you will live with another student from the school. This accommodation includes a private bedroom, with shared bathroom, kitchen and living facilities.
Activities
Our school in Sosua also arrange optional activities that are available for all students. Some activities are free to attend, and others will incur a small fee, which is payable directly to the school upon your arrival. Activities vary but typically include surfing, river rafting, mountain biking, horse riding, hiking, tennis and golf.
How to get there
Most of our students travelling to Sosua fly into Gregorio Luperon Puerto Plata International Airport. From there, we can arrange airport transfers to take you directly to your accommodation, at an additional cost.
