Details
20 or 26 French lessons per week + activities and excursions + full-board accommodation. The residences offered by our Premium school provide a kind of ‘Club Med’ experience for teenagers. There are two residences located just a few minutes from each other. One residence offers bedrooms with 2-4 beds and the other has just 2 beds in each room. The rooms in both residences have private bathrooms and air-conditioning, as well as outside space where students can relax in the sun. One residence has a swimming pool that is available for all participants of this programme to use. This residence is also where students who book residence accommodation go to eat breakfast and dinner (lunch is served at the school or provided as a packed lunch), and for the evening activities. For those students who wish to fully-immerse themselves into French culture, we offer host family accommodation. All host families live within 20 minutes of the school (either on foot or by public transport) and have Wi-Fi, air-conditioning OR a private bathroom for students to use. Meals are provided by the host family and dinner time provides an excellent opportunity to practise conversation skills. Please note that this accommodation option is only available for students aged 13 years and over. Bed linen is provided for all students but towels need to be packed. There are coin-operated laundry facilities at both residences. A laundry service isn’t guaranteed for students staying with a host family. This is something that can be discussed on arrival. Host families might ask for a small contribution toward laundry-related costs. Friends travelling together can stay with each other if that is the preference, otherwise, roommates are allocated according to age, nationality and gender.
NOTE: Placement in a particular campus depends on accommodation availability at the time of booking; we cannot guarantee which residence your child will be allocated to.
French lessons usually take place between 09:00 and 12:20, with a 20-minute break mid-morning. In spring and autumn the maximum class size is 12 students, and in summer the maximum class size is just 10 students. Lessons are offered on a total immersion basis, meaning students will be taught in French by fully qualified, native French speaking teachers. All aspects of language learning - speaking , listening, reading , writing and grammar - will be covered in the engaging and interactive language lessons.
Lessons aren’t held on the first Monday of the programme as this is dedicated to level testing and welcome activities. During this time students are able to get to know each other and more about the school, ready to start classes fully-informed the next day. There is also a welcome BBQ every Monday evening to introduce new arrivals to the students already on the programme. Please note that if a public holiday happens to fall on a Monday, level testing and orientation will take place on Tuesday, and classes will begin on Wednesday. On public holidays no lessons are held but students take part in a full day excursion or activity (not applicable for students who book lessons only).
The activities arranged for students on this programme are second to none!. The schedule includes two half-day tours, one full-day tour (for students staying more than one week), two half-day activities, an afternoon at a water sports centre or private pool, and evening activities (students staying with host families spend their evenings with the family members or have free time if parental permission allows). The following are regularly included in the activity timetable:
- Sailing
- Visit to a waterpark
- Trampoline park
- Bowling
- Watersports centre (summer only)
- Private pool
- Catamaran trip
- Excursion to Cannes
- Excursion to Monaco
- Excursion to Nice
- Welcome BBQ (for all students every Monday)
- Farewell party (for all students every Friday)
Please note that most water sports activities take place during the summer months only due to availability.
Before travel parents will be asked to complete a permission form stating how much unsupervised free time their child should be allowed. Children aged 12 years are not allowed any free time, whereas children aged 13-17 years are automatically authorised to go out until 19:30 each evening. The parents of students aged 16-17 years staying in one of the student residences also have the option to allow their child out until 22:00 weekdays and 01:00 at weekends. Students in this age group staying with host families are automatically allowed out in the evenings, therefore parents should choose student residence accommodation if they would prefer a more limited curfew. It is also worth noting that public transport ends around 20.00 in Juan-les-Pins, therefore students will have to walk home or take a taxi when returning to their accommodation.
Did you know? Parents can arrange adult courses for themselves at our general school, while children enjoy their specialised programme at the relevant campus.

Juan-les-Pins
The premium course for teenagers takes place around Juan-les-Pins and Antibes, two beautiful seaside resorts that sit side by side. This area is a paradise for beach-lovers and water sports enthusiasts alike!
Juan-les-Pins is often referred to as the smaller, more modern sibling of Antibes. This is the livelier neighbourhood, with its cafes, restaurants and shops all staying open into the evening. Juan-les-Pins town centre, often populated by families enjoying time together, is where teenagers usually head when they have free time in the evening. There are lots of cool hang out spots in which to meet friends from the school and practise newly improved language skills with other local young people. This area is a popular resort for French holidaymakers, ensuring there are always lots of people around.
In contrast to neighbouring Antibes, Juan-les-Pins is a fairly new town, the area having only been discovered by the Duke of Albany around 1800. At this time it was just a forest of pine trees that joined onto stunning sandy beaches and offered exceptional sea views (pins is pine in French). The area has been developed in such a way that it’s easy to imagine what Juan-les-Pins would have looked like when the land held only an immense pine forest. The stunning beaches and charming little coves remain unspoilt by the high number of international visitors that can’t resist travelling here each year.
Today the promenade is lined with small, independent shops selling art, jewellery, and other handcrafted items. The small boutiques here are in the know when it comes to the latest ‘looks’, so any fashionista will enjoy spending time in Juan-les-Pins town centre.
Juan-les-Pins is perhaps most famous for its annual jazz festival, which has hosted such names as Ray Charles, B. B. King, Fats Waller, and Dee Dee Bridgewater. It’s possible to see exactly who has participated in the festival over the years as each act has left an imprint of their hand and signature on clay tiles that line the central boulevard where the festival takes place - Juan les Pin’s own version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
For those looking to be taken back in time, the old part of Antibes town is full of narrow tree-lined streets, tiled courtyards, and buildings with traditional shuttered windows. This area is also home to artists’ studios, unique boutiques, and a range of cafés and restaurants.
Antibes is also home to more cultural attractions, with the Picasso Museum well worth a visit.
How to get there
Return transfers are included from Antibes train station or Nice airport.
Students will be collected as per their arrival information, which should be provided to us no later than four weeks before travel. At the airport they will be met by a school staff member and supervised until the next transfer vehicle departs. As this is a shared transfer service students might have to wait up to two hours, but this time provides the ideal opportunity to meet other new arrivals. Students arriving by train will be met at Antibes train station and taken to the residence. All students, regardless of their accommodation type, will be taken to the student residence. Those staying with a host family will be collected by one their family members around 17:00. Arrangements for the transfer on departure will be given to students in plenty of time. They will be collected from their accommodation and taken back to the appropriate destination in time for their departing flight/train.
As standard, accommodation is included from the Sunday before the course begins to the Saturday after the course finishes. An extra night on arrival and/or departure can sometimes be arranged at extra cost (subject to availability).
Young students attending this programme alone may need to arrange an Unaccompanied Minors’ service with their airline. If this is the case, please let us know and we will inform the school and transfer staff accordingly.

Intensive 20 with Host Family
It was very enjoyable and I learned lots of French. The activities were very good and we got a lot of freedom to do what we wanted when there weren’t activities on.
I stayed in a house with 2 of my friends. The family was very nice and the food was delicious. We had everything we needed in the house.
