Winter Premium French course for Teenagers, Juan-les-Pins

Our Winter French course for teenagers takes place in a gorgeous Provençal farmhouse located to the northwest of the city, just 20 minutes’ walk from Antibes centre and the nearest beach. The student residence in Juan-les-Pins is also around a 20-minute walk away, although students are transported to the school by shuttle bus every morning to make getting to classes even easier.

The attractive school building has 22 classrooms, all with audio visual equipment and Wi-Fi, a library with a variety of multi-media resources, and a self-service restaurant with a terrace that enjoys panoramic views. The school also sits within its own large garden, perfect for enjoying some winter sunshine during breaks.

Accommodation

Accommodation is arranged on a full-board, shared room basis in the school’s own student residence. The three-storey building has 30 multi-bed rooms (2-4 students per room), each with its own private bathroom. There are Wi-Fi zones where students can access the network free of charge, a restaurant, garden and coin-operated laundry facilities. Bed linen is provided, towels are not. Rooms are completely cleaned weekly - in the meantime a light cleaning takes place. The residence has a swimming pool but this may not be open during the winter programme (weather dependent).

The full-board meal plan includes breakfast and lunch served at the school restaurant, and dinner served at the residence restaurant. Meals are offered buffet style, with plenty of choice each day. At the weekend, or on days when there is an excursion, a packed lunch is provided. The school can cater for students who require a gluten-free diet but there is a supplement of €160 per week as they employ the services of a specialist food provider.

The student residence is ideally located just 450 metres from Juan-les-Pins centre and 600 metres from the beaches. The larger town centre of Antibes is just 1km away. The school is 1.2km from the residence, but students are driven to the school each morning and usually come back by shuttle bus following the afternoon activity.

Staff members live on-site to ensure 24-hour supervision and support. Prior to departure, parents and guardians will be asked to complete a permission form for their child. Students aged 12 years are not permitted to leave the school or the residence unaccompanied, whereas all other students are allowed to have free time up until 19:30. Parents of students aged 16-17 years can also state whether they are happy for them to have an extended curfew, meaning they can go out in the evening until 22:00 Monday to Thursday, and 23:00 on Friday, Saturday and days prior to a bank holiday. All students are expected to be back at the accommodation by 19:30 on Sunday to give them time to rest in preparation for the week ahead. Please be advised that there is no flexibility in the curfew policy, therefore if there are friends travelling together who are a mix of ages it is important to make them aware that anyone aged 15 years and under will not be allowed out in the evening, and students aged 12 will not be allowed out without a staff member at all.

Activities

Our young students will continue to cultivate their French language skills outside the classroom as they take part in the amazing activity programme that is included in the winter package.

The exclusive weekly itinerary will include:
• One half-day cultural visit per week, such as a trip to Cannes, Grasse or Eze Village
• Two half-days of activities per week like tree top aerial adventure, virtual reality gaming, trampoline park, or laser tag or paintball
• One full day trip to the mountains* for Alpine skiing, sledding or snowshoe hiking (*weather dependent)
• One afternoon of on-site activities at the student residence, or free time
• Evening entertainment, including BBQ night, games, quizzes, dance, shows, or free time for those 16 years over (with parental permission)
• One full day excursion to Monaco, Cannes or Nice for students who book more than one week

How to get there

For added reassurance, our programme includes return airport transfers from/to Nice Airport. Teenagers are met at the airport by a representative of the school and taken to the accommodation in Juan-les-Pins. At the end of the stay they are taken back to the airport in plenty of time for their flight home. Please make us aware if the student will be travelling as an unaccompanied minor so we can provide you with all necessary information in good time. Transfers are only included at the weekend - as standard arrival is on Sunday and departure on Saturday - but weekday transfers can be arranged at extra cost. Transfers can also be arranged from Antibes train station.
