Italian summer course in Salerno

Italian Courses for Young Students

Our courses for young students in Italy are tailored for teenagers in mind. Courses are not only geared to improve students’ Italian skills but are also usually heavily activity based to ensure students remain engaged during their time studying abroad. Activities are conducted in Italian, ensuring students stay immersed all the while providing opportunity to practice Italian in real life situations. Our under 18 courses are also supervised — each age group having the appropriate level of supervision to make their language course safe and rewarding.

We offer Italian courses in a range of locations that are both appealing and immersive for young students — with Italian schools in iconic cities like Florence, Bologna and Rome, as well as seaside destinations like Lignano, Salerno, Taormina and Tropea. No matter if they prefer a sun-filled experience on the coast or a course in a historic city, there’s a language course in Italy that’s sure to be a memorable experience for teens.

Suitability

Our junior courses are suitable for students aged 12-18, depending on the school. Some of our schools offer junior exclusive courses — where every student on that course will be under the age of 18, but other schools will accept 16-18-year-old students onto their adult courses.

Our junior language courses are suitable for all proficiency levels from A1 to C1. Students take an Italian Level Test prior to their course to ensure they are placed in the appropriate group.

Courses

Our schools in Italy offer intensive Italian courses for junior students which are typically composed of 20 language lessons per week in the mornings, followed by immersive language and cultural activities in the afternoons. Students will have the chance to improve their writing, reading, listening and speaking skills with fellow students in a supportive and engaging classroom environment amongst their peers. Our teachers are also fully qualified and native Italian speakers, providing high quality teaching.

Accommodation

Most of our schools require junior students to stay with carefully selected local Host Families during their studies. Meals with your Host Family are on a full board basis, and students can often opt for a single room or a shared room. For students travelling with friends or siblings, requests to share a room or stay with the same host can be made — just let us know and we’ll see what we can do! Staying with a Host Family is also the perfect way to practice conversational Italian outside of the classroom as hosts are native Italian speakers.

Some schools also offer full board Student Residence accommodation in single or shared room options. Some student residences offer shared bathrooms or private ensuites for students — depending on the school and location.

Accommodation options are often within walking distance of the school, or within easy reach by public transport.

Information on different accommodation options available are on our individual course pages classified by city. Feel free to contact us if you have any special requests regarding dietary restrictions, or if you have any further questions.

Activities

Our junior language schools in Italy offer a range of fun and exciting activities for students during their course. Activities are conducted in Italian — providing a full immersion experience. Activities and excursions vary by school and locations, but the standard itinerary is often Italian classes in the morning followed by daily activities in the afternoon, and one weekly half or full day excursion. Activities can include guided tours of local museums or galleries, walking tours of the city and more!

All activities are supervised appropriately for the student’s age group by trained staff. Activities are also tailored to the age range of the students, with younger students having higher levels of supervision while still enjoying some free time, and older students having a higher level of free time during activities.

Airport transfers are available for students, with some schools offering it as part of the package, and others at as a supplement. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding transfers for individual schools — we’d be happy to help!
