Trinidad
If you want to learn Spanish in a really ‘Cuban’ location, then take a Spanish course in Trinidad, located on the south coast of Cuba. Trinidad is a beautiful example of a Spanish colonial city. This is an untouched, typically Cuban town, where you can learn Spanish whilst completely immersing yourself in the Spanish language and Cuban culture. Though Trinidad has a magnificent sandy beach, the town itself is more or less untouched by international tourism, with any modern buildings being built down by the beach, leaving the town itself completely unspoilt. The ‘unspoilt’ nature of Trinidad is its charm, with the fading elegance of its colonial buildings and the friendly nature of the local Cubans.

Students on Spanish courses in Trinidad have lessons in the home of their teacher, or the teacher comes to the home of the Cuban host family where they are staying. You can learn Spanish on a Mini-Group course of 20 lessons/week, or if you want to learn as much Spanish as possible during your course in Trinidad, study on a Private lesson course of 20, 25 or 30 private lessons/week. Salsa dance courses and Cuban music courses are also offered. There are also Combined Courses, which are a combination of the Mini-Group Course and 5 or 10 private lessons/week. The maximum group size on Spanish courses in Trinidad is just 3 students per class, providing lots of personal attention to every student. |

Accommodation in Trinidad is in carefully selected Cuban host families. All accommodation is within walking distance of the historic centre of Trinidad. Staying in Cuban host families helps student to learn Spanish as quickly as possible, as the families speak Spanish to the students, giving students lots of extra practice. In addition to the Spanish courses in Trinidad, there is a cultural program, with a range of optional excursions and activities, including visits to a tobacco plantation, optional Salsa and guitar lessons, as well as visits to nearby beaches and locations inland. This program ensures that students enjoy their time in Trinidad, as well as helping them practice out of class the Spanish that they learn on the course. To get to Trinidad, you should fly to Havana. We can arrange overnight host family accommodation for you in Havana. You should then take one of the direct coach services to Trinidad. The journey takes around 6 hours and costs the equivalent of around 30 US dollars one way. |
