What activities are available in Buenos Aires?

Part of taking a Spanish course in Buenos Aires is having the opportunity to explore the city, better understand the local culture and, of course, to use your new-found Spanish skills in everyday situations. It is partly for this reason that the school offers an optional activities programme which is open to all students. This is also the perfect way to meet your fellow students and to make friends from all over the world.
Examples of typical activities offered include city tours, mate tasting, Spanish film screenings, Milonga nights, tango lessons and excursions to places such as Colonia in Uruguay. You will be informed of the exact activities offered during your stay upon your arrival and, whilst some activities may be free, others may incur a small additional charge payable directly to the school.
How to get to our school in Buenos Aires
For a smooth and stress-free arrival, our colleagues at the school recommend booking a pre-arranged private school transfer. This is the simplest and safest option, ensuring a private driver greets you in the arrivals hall and takes you directly to your accommodation. Please note that this service will incur an additional charge; please contact us for further information.
If you prefer to arrange your own travel upon arrival, the following independent options are available:
• Pre-Paid Official Taxis & Remises: The most secure way to take a taxi is to book and pay at official company desks inside the terminal hall immediately after baggage claim (such as Taxi EZE or Manuel Tienda León). Never accept unsolicited offers from drivers soliciting rides inside or outside the terminal.
• Ride-Sharing Apps: Uber and Cabify are safe, widely used, and cost-effective in Buenos Aires. You can connect to the free airport Wi-Fi to request a ride once you have cleared customs, then meet your driver at the designated app pickup zone.
• Airport Express Bus: The Manuel Tienda León shuttle service operates regular coach departures from the airport to its main terminal near the Obelisk in central Buenos Aires. From there, your accommodation in Palermo is just a short 15-minute taxi, Cabify, or metro ride (Subte Line D) away.

Thailand, Germany, and Australia are a few places that I have been but I knew the next adventure in my life would be somewhere in South America. I had a couple cities in mind but it only took me five minutes before I knew where I wanted to live. The culture and lifestyle of Buenos Aires was enticing and lured me in quickly. Some alluring aspects to Argentina were the mix of European and Latin American culture, together with the much-raved about aspects of the city itself (not to mention the rumors about how attractive the Argentine women were!).
After lots of research, I decided to take Spanish lessons with Apple Languages at their Plaza de Mayo school in the centre of Buenos Aires. My first day was like starting high school all over again. I was meeting so many people that I couldn't remember all of their names. Everyone was in the same situation as myself; excited to be in Buenos Aires and experiencing something new.

First I wanted to study Spanish in Spain. Then suddenly I thought why not making an experience a bit further away? So changed my mind and went to Buenos Aires. There I took a Spanish course for 4 weeks.
I didn't speak a word when I arrived. I had some basics, but that was all. I chose to live in a host family; there you have the possibility to speak the language the most. And it was just perfect! I had a lovely host mum and she really took care in speaking a lot with me. She was like my second family.
