DELE Exam Preparation courses

We often have students ask us about the possibility of taking a language course that will provide them with some proof that they have attained a certain level of Spanish. All students receive certificates of attendance at the end of their courses and this usually includes information about the level reached. However, these are not officially recognised qualifications.

If you do need an internationally recognised proof of your level of Spanish, then you may like to consider taking a DELE exam. Recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, as well as many international organisations and run by the Instituto Cervantes, DELE stands for Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera.

The importance of insurance

We arrange language courses and accommodation abroad for thousands of clients each year. The majority of clients have an excellent, rewarding, safe and fun experience but we would always advise people who are travelling abroad to book comprehensive travel insurance.

For Europeans travelling within the EU, travel insurance should be bought in addition to an up to date EHIC.

Staying with a Host family

We are often asked by students about our recommendations for accommodation and I can honestly say that if want to make as much progress learning a new language as possible, staying with a host family is the best option!

The schools we work with visit each of the host families individually, to ensure that accommodation they offer is suitable for our students and that the family themselves are friendly and welcoming.

European Health Insurance Card

State medical care throughout Europe should be relatively cheap, if not free for residents from the UK and the same applies to other European nationals travelling to other countries throughout Europe.

Recent shock headlines in the UK have brought to attention the need to make sure all your papers are up to date when you travel abroad. We at Apple Language Courses would always advise that you take comprehensive travel insurance but you should not be forced to pay for private treatment when in a European member country. Some European member countries have been accused of trying to avoid paying for state medical care for UK citizens abroad by not accepting the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
