DELE Exam Preparation courses

We often have students ask us about the possibility of taking a language course that will provide them with some proof that they have attained a certain level of Spanish. All students receive certificates of attendance at the end of their courses and this usually includes information about the level reached. However, these are not officially recognised qualifications.

If you do need an internationally recognised proof of your level of Spanish, then you may like to consider taking a DELE exam. Recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, as well as many international organisations and run by the Instituto Cervantes, DELE stands for Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera.

The DELE exams can be taken by all students who are not citizens of Spanish-speaking countries (there are some exceptions for those who are citizens of Hispanophone countries who are not ‘native’ speakers, please consult the DELE website for further information).

The exam itself consists of 5 parts which must all be passed in order to obtain the diploma. These are; reading comprehension, a written paper, listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary and an oral exam.

The DELE is divided into three levels, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The three levels are Nivel Iniciel (B1-B2), Nivel Intermedio (B2-C1) and Nivel Superior (C2).

Any course would be good preparation for the exam, as you will always be taught at the appropriate level for you. However, many of our Spanish schools do offer specialist DELE Exam Preparation courses:
