Perfect Pisa

Hello everyone!

If I name the city Pisa, you will probably think about the Leaning Tower of Pisa and all the funny photos everybody takes below it trying to make it not fall down!

But besides this fantastic monument and the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, Pisa is also well known, at least among the Italians, for being one of the best University cities and offering to its students a really amazing night life!!

I have a few friends studying there and every time I can, I go there for the weekend! The city is really pretty and quite easy to get around by bike or foot with two nice bridges linking the two parts of the city together.

My personal experience of Pisa is amazing! Leaving behind the usual tourist path, if you are a student and want to mix with Italian and foreign students to enjoy and try to talk with them, the night life that Pisa offers is just the best occasion to do it!

Piazza delle Vettovaglie is the medieval heart of the city where all the students and friends reunite for the night or around the aperitivo time and trust me, you are gonna love it!

It’s a small, squared piazza with bars surrounding it and tables in the middle – so you will get people both sitting and standing outside for a chat, having a beer and all having fun together! The drinks are all very affordable and the food is very good also.

Something I love to do, if you get time, is to go to a famous bar in Piazza delle Vettovaglie and admire the great drawings of Tommaso Santucci. It’s hard to explain what he does but if you look for him on the internet you will get to see what he makes, as he has also his own website and you will absolutely want to go and have a look at his creations. Why not buy one as a special momentum of your Italian experience! Some of his creations are displayed inside the bar so while you have a good coffee or beer you will get the chance to see his works!
