Valencia is an enchanting city with lots to do, but also has a safe small-town feeling. It was one of the reasons why I decided to study there! Another reason is that they speak with the ‘real’ Spanish accent, which is great when you are practicing the language. Valencia has two universities and is very near to a beautiful sandy beach.

Here are three things you should know before meeting us ‘froggies’.
Italian is a very rich language, full of idioms and proverbs that are commonly used in everyday conversations. If you are learning Italian, want to sound like a native speaker and want to understand Italians when they speak, you should really make an effort and try to learn at least some Italian idioms. Taking an Italian language course where the language is spoken will definitely help!

1) PEEP THROUGH THE AVENTIN KEYHOLE TO SEE THE ST. PETER’S BASILICA
Walk up the Aventin hill, away from the main tourist spots, and you will find a long white wall with a large green door leading to the ‘Priority of the Knights of Malta’, a religious order created in the Middle Ages and still active. Just look through the keyhole on the door and you will be amazed at what you can see: a stunning framed view of St. Peter’s Basilica at the end of a beautiful tree-lined path. It is incredible how the keyhole vista lines up perfectly with St. Peter’s cupola!

As we get closer to Christmas the conversation in our office keeps coming back to how we each celebrate over the festive season and the family traditions we have. We are very lucky here to be able to work in an office with so much contact with different nationalities. It’s always nice to hear about Christmas elsewhere, but it’s even nicer to be able to experience Christmas fully immersed a different country!
